A real fan does not abandon the team when a matchup is not favorable. You can get on them and bash players, but to give up as if the rest of the team won't be able to overcome weak pitching is lame. There's a reason why Burnett still managed to be 11-11. It wasn't because of him most of the time.

Its elimination I would start Nova really I would, and then pray to god they don't need Burnett for Game 5 in Yankee Stadium, that may be why they are pitching him here. The Corners in Comerica are a good 25 feet longer then Yankee stadium so the likely hood of him giving up a crucial HR is a lot more slim here in Det then in NY.

Truthfully if Det cannot put the Yankees away tonight using Burnett then they do not deserve to move on to face the Rangers. But if Det does manage to end the Yankees misery tonight, it should be one hellva ALCS against the Rangers who we have owed in Comerica since its inception.

Who said I abadoned them? I just don't believe we'll win tonight and the shitty offense is proof that we're done. It's not like I'm not going to watch the game.

His ERA is friggin 5.15. He went 11-11 because the Yankees score a ton of runs, plain and simple. On any ordinary team he'd be more like 7-15 with an ERA like that. He's down on Burnett for good reason - the guy sucks.

That's what happens when you have more aces than starting spots. Must be nice... On most teams Worley would be a #1 or #2 starter.

I'll gladly eat my bowls of crow. I feel that every time Burnett pitches, they should tell him that if he pitches bad, that we'll be eliminated from the playoffs. Not to sound like a ungrateful SOB, but I do hate when we put up crooked #'s offensively because the next game, we put up goose eggs.

Burnett had a lot of luck tonight. If Granderson doesn't catch that ball in the 1st, Detroit likely scores 3 runs at least to start the game. Though the strike zone is crazy this series, I have never seen so many questionable strikes called in one series. They were giving Porcello the high strike tonight, something that hasn't been called regularly since the 60's.
