In hindsight I'm somewhat happy my own team missed the playoffs. Had the Braves made it instead of St. Louis the Phillies would almost certainly be in the NLCS.

That's the really bizarre thing about baseball. It's the only major sport with no salary cap and yet it has more parity than the NBA and NFL. No such thing as a Dream Team in MLB. The Cards remind me a bit of last year's Giants. I could definitely see them winning it all, though I think Milwaukee has a slight edge in the NLCS.

From regular season stats. I would have to agree with you. I dont think we did good against Milwaukee.

EDIT: Unless I miscounted. Cards were 9-9 against them.

Hopefully the Philly PD are ready in case of any disturbances on the streets. I have a lot of co-workers who are Philly sports fans and none of them seemed the least bit worried they might lose today. This loss has to be one of the more shocking ever for that city.

I think speaking solely on talent it's almost dead even. Thing is Milwaukee has home field advantage and they went 57-24 at home this season, best in MLB by a mile. Though the Cards are a very good road team.
