I agree. West vs. East. It's been way too long since the Yanks have won a title. Baseball is more fun when the Yanks are championship contenders every year.

I would guess that Fox would love that World Series, or Red Sox/Dodgers. That'd get huge ratings with 2 teams with large national fan bases from large cities. The ratings for recent World Series have been pretty bad, especially last year when the Rays were in it, as they have no national fan base.

The ending to the Rockies/Cardinals game yesterday was crazy and cost the Braves probably a .5 game in the standings. Barmes made a crazy catch that Lugo could have tagged up on from third to score the tying run, but Pujols foolishly made a baserunning error and left first base, getting doubled off and ending the game.

That mistake by Pujols could easily be the difference in why the Braves do not make the playoffs.

He is still the MVP, but what a mental error.

Poor Rays... still not much of a fan base even after getting to the WS last year.

Right now, I am really pulling for my Braves to get the Wild Card. If they do, they'll be a team to really contend with the way they have been playing of late. Go Braves!

Somehow the Jays are pounding the ball out of Fenway tonight! I'm talking monster shots!

No one would guess... but the Jays have more homers than the Yankees this month!

I'm becoming a Blue Jays fan for their next series, and hope Texas can somehow sneak into the playoffs. The odds of that happening are probably 1/1000, but it gives me something to watch for.

Yankees win again.

Down 3-2 going into the bottom of the 9th, the Royals put in Kyle Farnsworth to close out the game.

I kind of felt bad for Farnsworth because I know he always wanted to be a Yankee, and cried last year when they told him he was traded.

But anyway, a couple of ground balls bounced off Farnsworth, including the game winning hit, which hit him in the leg and then rolled toward the Yankee dugout, into foul territory.

Weird way to win, but it counts all the same.

Well, despite Toronto putting a beatdown on the Sox, the Sox clinched the Wild Card last night (thanks to yet another Texas loss). It's a bit anti-climactic to clinch after losing five or six in a row, especially after what COULD have been last night (soooo close to a great comeback, right down to the bottom of the 9th, plenty of chances) - but I'll take it!
