Having Punto attempt to bunt is clearly more managerial genius from LaRussa.

Incredibly stupid. Most of this is on LaRussa. Though Pujols's fielding didn't help either.

I can't blame Pujols too much, he was surely thinking of gunning out Kinsler at third setting up the double play to end the game.

Congrats Texas, huge comeback win. Looks like this might be a short series.

Texas becomes the first team to win a World Series game after trailing after the 8th inning in 10 years.

Game 7 of the 2001 series. One of the most enjoyable games of my life.

I have to say those defensive plays by Andrus and Kinsler were pretty amazing as well.

The toss straight from the glove with perfect lead to end an inning, and then the double play. All around great defense.

Great to see Texas get 2 in the 9th and Feliz bring the "GAS" in the bottom half. I hope the Rangers win it for Nolan Ryan (old school country hardball and nails tough...just ask Robin Ventura). The Cards better get ready for some "Heavy Lumber" in Arlington...GO RANGERS!!!

Jim Caple on ESPN actually said that St. Louis has the advantage in pinch hitting because Texas's lineup is so good they don't need to pinch hit.

Wait...what? What exactly does that mean?

Actually, I think I figured out what he meant.

The Rangers lineup being so good they don't need to pinch hit means nobody on the Rangers actually gets to practice pinch hitting. Pinch hitting is hard to do without practice. So now when you are trying to pinch for the pitcher, Texas isn't very good at it.

Of course, that's just me rationalizing after some thought.

It means he's a blithering idiot trying to sound smart by confusing the viewers.

Small ball at it's finest. My heart wishes they didn't wait all the way until the 9th inning to get it done, but who cares about that thing. Heart attacks are under rated...I'm an idiot. I'm still not as sure as some of you others that this will be a short series. Sure our bats haven't lit up the scoreboard but who's to say they all of a sudden catch fire in Arlington.

Where, BTW, I was a first-hand witness to the ALCS game 6 awesomeness. My first game ever!!! Go Rangers!!!

Over-managing costs the Cardinals the game. Who would have thought?

LaRussa, trust your pitchers. Taking out Motte for 100 year old Rhodes is just dumb. Instead of strikeout potential, you put in a guy who will most likely get hitters to put the ball in play.

Well I suppose it was good in the end for a Texas fan like myself. I enjoy seeing over-managing fail. Texas to take over in Texas

Tony was stupid for taking Motte out. I would have kept him in. For all I know, Motte could have struck out Hamilton. Then got the other two, to ground out. (Something like that).

I think LaRussa has flashbacks to 1988 and Dennis Eckersley every time he puts in a closer. He's paranoid beyond belief with relief pitchers.

What a horrible call by the first base umpire on the double play ball.
