Well, despite Toronto putting a beatdown on the Sox, the Sox clinched the Wild Card last night (thanks to yet another Texas loss). It's a bit anti-climactic to clinch after losing five or six in a row, especially after what COULD have been last night (soooo close to a great comeback, right down to the bottom of the 9th, plenty of chances) - but I'll take it!

Some controversy on whether they should have poured beer all over his jersey to remember him and celebrate with him (since he was killed by an alleged drunk driver) - didn't bother me though, his freinds and teammates surely meant no disrespect to anyone.

I kind of felt bad for Farnsworth because I know he always wanted to be a Yankee, and cried last year when they told him he was traded.

But anyway, a couple of ground balls bounced off Farnsworth, including the game winning hit, which hit him in the leg and then rolled toward the Yankee dugout, into foul territory.

Weird way to win, but it counts all the same.

Farnsworth sucks for the Yanks...he couldn't get anybody out. I'm enjoying all the walk-offs.

For the first time in a long time, the Yankees are really coming together. The camaraderie is amazing and I hope they can keep up the momentum for the playoffs and into the WS..

The Tigers and Twins need to start winning games so we can get an opponent lol.

Angels/Red Sox is a nice match. Should be a good series.

Bochy sucks... if you watched a lot of Giants games this yr you would understand my frustration... and it wasent the coach it was the young talented pitching staff we have that kept us in playoff contention...

Some of his decisions were very questionable, especially when we have runners on base.. he has no idea what hes doing

I'm not a Giants fan, but I went to a game a few years ago, and considered myself a fan for a night.

Participated in the "He's a bum" chant, and started high-fiving strangers when Bonds hit a HR (#716... the one after the one that passed Ruth).

Haha ok I know this game doesn't matter and many regulars aren't playing... but the Jays chasing Wakefield and being up 10-0 in the 6th inning is sweet... another bunch of monster home runs.

Ricky Nolasco is absolutely tearing up the Braves tonight (14 SO's and counting). He is a beast when he's on. It is a damn shame that the Marlins aren't going to the big dance.

I'm kind of worried about Joba, but not really, since he's not a playoff starter.

Unless I'm crazy, I imagine the rotation will be like this for the division series:

Gm 1: CC
Gm 2: AJ
Gm 3: Pettitte

I trust Pettitte more than AJ, but I'd rather have AJ start at home, because he tends to pitch better in NY than on the road, so that's why I'd put him down for Gm 2.

At this point, I wish they would gear Joba up for the bullpen, instead of making him make these useless limited starts, where they take him out after a maximum x amount of innings, regardless of the pitch count.

At least next year the modified Joba rules will be gone, and he'll get to pitch every 5th day, for as many innings as he's good, just like any other pitcher.
