I believe the Rangers first games of the 2012 season are against the White Sox. Robin Ventura is taking over as manager of the White Sox next season. They did beat the Phillies, but I've never been a believer in "better team wins", especially in baseball. I will say no more because I've re-hashed that argument way too many times.

Batting Avg - .261
On Base% - .414

For a power hitter on base % is the key stat and Pujols is getting on base. He's also 2nd among all players on both teams in runs scored in the WS with 6.

I'm on this side of the Pujols debate. Just having him in the lineup is a threat. Look no further than last night's IBB that set up the Berkman hit.

I don't think there's anything that can be done in this WS to devalue Pujols in any way. The guy is the best out there and everyone knows it.

The baseball guys and I at work were having a water cooler discussion today and I brought up that Pujols is probably the best home run hitter ever to not have a 50-HR season (at least not yet!). Then we got going on the flip side of that and started talking about the worst players to have 50-HR seasons. Needless to say Brady Anderson topped our list.

Yeah, he fractured his wrist and only missed 15 games I think it was?? You can see it still bothers him from time to time....

Managers are getting out of hand these days with yanking pitchers. They act like 3 days rest is some sort of epic accomplishment. Players used to do it all the time in the old days. I'm sick to death of the overreactions from managers. Just let the guy pitch. I have no doubt LaRussa will pull Carpenter too early.
