So which season do you guys think will begin first? The 2012 MLB season or 2011-12 NBA season? I bet it's MLB.

Ron Washington is just not a good manager. He made some of the worst tactical decisions ever seen in a very close World Series. Bringing in Darren Oliver instead of C.J. Wilson for the save in game 6 probably cost the Rangers a championship.

I still see the NBA season starting in January once the players realize how much money they're losing.

Reports said they were supposed to get a deal done by the weekend. Wrong again though because the employees think they should get a higher revenue share percentage than the employers

I still trust the NBA season will start before the end of November once somebody smacks a frying pan over the head of Derek Fisher and Derek Rose.

Why did a I choose to be a Rangers fan? It's like being a Braves fan all over again. Always disappointed.

People can say what they want about the Cards, they can say they sucked, had a horrible regular season, they owe it to the Braves for choking, home field advantage was the difference, or whatever, I've heard the all, and I know I'm forgetting some excuses, but in the end, the cards are champions and they did whatever they had to do in order to win, they caught some breaks, but so what, it's sports, EVERYONE gets breaks sometimes.......we had calls go against us also. They were left standing at the end and that is all that matters, so hell with all the haters, the CARDS are the CHAMPS! Every team can say "if this didn't happen......We would be there" so what, the cards have a season of "what it's" too.....ALL that matters is who's standing at the end of the season.

I'm glad a hometown boy got the MVP, but it was owed to Berkman.....he was the most consistent thru the whole post season, Freese was hot and cold, but when he was hot he was HOT, when it mattered. All I know is tomorrow, I'll be downtown at the championship parade wearing my world series stuff!

Im not sure too many people are actually hating on the Cardinals, they got themselves into the playoffs, they beat the Phillies, Brewers, and Rangers, seems likes they earned they Championship. Regardless of how you got into the playoffs, you still gotta win, they did so. Congrats to the Cardinals! Very impressive run over the last month.

much agreed.....my "haters" comment was directed at anyone.....we just all know how sports go.....everyone is loyal to their team, and passionate about them, as am I........if we lost last night, I'd have a ton of excuses....luckily I don't need to pull them out....hahahahahaha

I think they said only 4 teams in history have ever lost back to back WS? I figured there would have been more than that.......

The Cardinals definitely earned their championship. The only thing I ever said was that this Cardinals team talent-wise isn't in the same league as several other playoff teams. That's not a slap in the face to St. Louis, facts are in MLB the hottest team, not the most talented wins the title. It's just the way the game is.

The last to do it was the team that donated their playoff spot to the Cardinals. Braves lost in 91 (Twins) and 92 (Blue Jays). Why, why do I choose to be a Braves and Rangers fan? Why? One epic regular season choke job and multiple chokes when the Cardinals practically tried to gift the Rangers the series win in game 6.

Ya, I looked it up. Happened quite a few times, but mostly back in the early days where there were few MLB teams. Giants, Dodgers and Yankees mainly.

2010-2011 - Texas Rangers
1991-1992 - Atlanta Braves
1977-1978 - Los Angeles Dodgers
1963-1964 - New York Yankees
1952-1953 - Brooklyn Dodgers
1936-1937 - New York Giants
1923-1924 - New York Giants
1921-1922 - New York Yankees
1911-1913 - New York Giants
1907-1909 - Detroit Tigers - No ring for you Ty Cobb - those were his only 3 career post-season appearances

A St. Louis supporter took 999-to-1 odds on his team to win the World Series.

Pay the man: Bettor to collect $375,000 after Cards win Series.

Yankees exercise 14 million option for Cano (duh) but also exercise 10.25 million option for Swisher

In 100 postseason at-bats (114 plate appearances) for the Yankees Swisher's batting line is .160 avg, .245obp .333slg% with 12 BB, 4 HR and 5 rbi's.

We were at a halloween party and people were talking about this! My cousin when he was in Vegas bet on the cards to win.....but it was before the season started, and the odds were only 20 to 1.....he came out with $200.....nothing like what this guy got!!

Excellent. Not because his team beat the Rangers, but because it closes the chapter on boring over-managing in St-Louis that should have cost his team the World Series if Ron Washington wasn't even more inept than him.

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinions..... Over managing or not, he still will go down in history as one of the best managers in history.....you don't get 2,691 wins (that might not be up to date either) by over-managing. Just my opinion. Most fans in St. Louis hated him (I guess for the reasons that you say above), but I for one liked the guy....
