Like there was any doubt about him staying? Brian Cashman also signed a new 3yr deal to stay as GM. This past season was one of his best (if not his best) season's as Yankee GM.

Darren Rovell of CNBC thinks there is a good chance Fox would consider buying at least majority ownership of the Dodgers. Fox sold the Dodgers, the stadium, and the parking lots to Frank McCourt in 2004 for $421 million in 2004. Rovell said it's important for Fox to keep the TV rights to the Dodgers after losing the TV rights to the Lakers (after the 2011-2012 season) to Time Warner and USC and UCLA to the upcoming Pac-12 Network. If Fox loses the Dodgers rights then Fox Sports West and Prime Ticket become virtually worthless, so Fox could feel it has to buy the Dodgers.

Speaking of feeling better, A&E home video recently released (only on dvd) game six of the 1993 World Series in it's entirety (Jays vs Phillies). Canadian fans can go back and remember the good times when coupled with this win, the year before win and the rise of the Expos that Canadian teams were going to dominate the 1990's. Sadly the 1994 strike ruined that dream forever.

The Cubs fired manager Mike Quade. I expected this to happen when Theo Epstein joined the team. Now the question is will Epstein go for someone he's familiar with or Ryne Sandberg. Most Cubs fans (myself included) wanted Sandberg to get the job last year. It would likely help Epstein's reputation if he installed one of the Cubs most popular players ever as the new manager, but Epstein will do what he thinks will most help the team.

You have to be shitting me. The team might go for over $1 billion and he bought it for $421 mill? You mean that scumbag is going to make a friggin profit for running the team into the ground? That crook should be in prison. Only in America.

From what I've read that scumbag has so much debt that he will need a billion to even break even...which I don't even understand because he never even put any of his own money into buying the Dodgers in the first place. I'm praying the IRS is just sitting and waiting for all this mess to pan out and then they go for his jugular.

Ok, that's good to hear then. It's an open secret the McCourts were using the team as a private piggy bank. Hopefully the IRS does nail them good.

Yeah, I've read that team signed balls by the World Series champions often don't happen because there's usually 1-2 players that want too much money. In 2006 there wasn't a signed ball because Pujols and Rolen wanted too much money. Last year there wasn't a signed ball because Lincecum wanted too much money.

Some of these guys are getting a little too greedy.....=( I collect baseball autographs.....its sad how much I have to pay for someone to put their name on something.....its usually twice what its worth....I'm skipping out on a show in Chicago next month, Willie Mays will be there, I'm working on a Hall of Fame bat, he wants $470 to sign a bat..... $695 to sign a jersey Just to write his freaking name!! Luckily I already have a Mays jersey, (I didn't pay that much, not far though), but I'm not gonna spend that much for him to sign my bat......bad thing is, there will be a bunch of people standing there who did.

my bad, its $1700....says it has Pujols on it......makes you wonder about the authenticity.

I like how it says "lifetime guarantee of authenticity"......huh? Does it become fake over time? =p

It's possible that is authentic because the autographs were obtained individually at various events. What Darren Rovell was referring to was that there wouldn't be an official World Series ball signed by the entire team that was sold by MLB or the Cardinals because the cost is too high due to the price certain players demanded.
