Yeah Braun was great this year, but Kemp was the best player in the NL and clearly should have won the MVP.

Twins signed C-1B-OF Ryan Doumit to a one-year, $3 million contract.
The deal was officially announced Wednesday. Doumit probably won't see much time behind the plate if Joe Mauer manages to avoid the disabled list, but he is also capable of playing first base and the outfield. Hopefully the presence of the DH will allow him to stay healthy for a change. The 30-year-old switch-hitter batted .303/.353/.477 with eight home runs, 30 RBI and an .830 OPS over 236 plate appearances this season.

I really like the Cubs new approach, everyone is available. Garza trade talks are starting to heat up. As much as I would love to keep Garza, if the right deal comes along I hope the Cubs pull the trigger. Our minor league pitching is non existent. Get some prospects and load up for the future.

Well at the very least he makes thing interesting. Wonder if he'll bust out that sweet disguise if he gets booted from a game.

It's going to be interesting seeing as some Boston players wanted anyone BUT him.

I'm watching his press conference now; he almost sounds a bit like Alan Alda sometimes...

This whole Red Sox hiring Valentine as manager thing seems quite odd. There was all that talk about a "lack of discipline" in Boston and lack of a firm hand with Francona. So their answer is to bring in a guy whose best known for having a goofy persona and sneaking back into the dugout wearing a disguise after being tossed out of a game? It's the opposite direction I thought they'd take.

Don't let his goofy persona fool you. Valentine is quite the hard a** and rips players who don't always give a full effort.

Marlins really broke the bank. Very surprised at this move. Wonder how much more they'll spend given their new stadium opens in 2012.

The Miami Marlins and shortstop Jose Reyes agreed to terms on a six-year deal Sunday, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney.

Sources told ESPNDeportesLosAngeles.com earlier Sunday that the Marlins offered Reyes a deal worth a minumum of $111 million.

According to the sources, Miami would pay Reyes $106 million for six years, with an option for a seventh year for $22 million. If they decide not to use the option, they would pay Reyes $5 million.

Earlier in the offseason, Miami offered Reyes a six-year, $90 million deal, which he rejected.

Reyes, 28, is coming off the best year in his career. He hit .337 for the New York Mets to win his first batting title. In nine years, all with the Mets, he has batted .292 with 370 steals and 740 runs scored.

I've been a die hard Mets fan for nearly 25 years and I've never been more disappointed with my team than I am today. The Wilpons have to sell this team.

The thing that shocks me most is the Mets getting outbid by the friggin Marlins. The Marlins entire team payroll was only $57 mill in 2011.

The saving grace for me in all the misery I've put up with as a Mets fan ( and it's a big list) is that I always honestly thought they were trying their hardest to put a winning team on the field. I can't say that anymore. I understand unloading Beltran and K-Rod, but not taking care of your homegrown stars is inexcusable to me. If the Mets are losing you so much money Fred, sell the team. I guarantee people will line up to take it off your hands. Go cry poor somewhere else.

I'm starting to think the Wilpons are doing more damage to the Mets than the McCourts have done to the Dodgers. At least the Dodgers made the effort to re-sign their best hitter in Kemp. The Dodgers long-term health is looking much better than the Mets.

Their MLB-message board is practically a graveyard over there.

Good luck with that guys. LOL

I've gotta give the Marlins credit. They are trying to build up a fan base with a new stadium, Ozzie at the helm, and free agent splurges. Only time will tell but I have a hard time seeing the Marlins getting it going in the community and having sell outs throughout the season.
