Believe me, we Yankee fans are excited to have former Yanks come back home (Willie Randolf is on YES with the Yankees baseball daily).

Have you ever read "The Bronx Zoo" by Sparky Lyle? It chronicles those Yankee clubs of the mid to late 70's. Lou was one crazy dude. It's a Great read with some awesome inside stuff.

Never got a chance (I was born in 77) but I have seen the film reels and the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry during the mid to late 70's was really a rivalry (there were times that both teams came to blows and players from both teams didn't like each other).

They hated each other...just say "Bucky Dent" to a Sox fan and he may become unglued. We went to Yankee Stadium to see the Jays in '08 and being in monument Park before the game was AWESOME. The place wreaked of tradition and we loved it. All we could talk about on the way home was how unfortunate it was that another old ballpark was being abandoned. My all-time favourite ballpark is old "Tiger Stadium". Saw around 10 games there during my life and I still wish it was there.

They call him Bucky F&%king Dent in Boston. Yup the old ballbark in the BX is completely gone and replaced by the new ballpark in the BX (across the street, literally).

The wrecking ball has gotten the better of that Great old place.

Here's a pic of Tiger Stadium hanging at my place. This is the last pitch ever thrown there, against KC. The mounted ticket stub is from my last trip to the corner of "Michigan and Trumbull", against Texas, 3 weeks prior to the last game. Even though I'm not a Tiger fan, it was definitely a sad moment.

When we were there in '08 the exterior of the new Yankee Stadium had been completed and they were working on the field and installing the seats.

Since we are on the Yankee subject, I remember watching ESPN's The Bronx is Burning a few years ago. How close is it to the actually story of the 77 Yankees? I thought the tv series was a blast.

It was the "Billy & Reggie" show for sure. Being from the Lincoln State, I assume you're a White Sox or Cubs fan? Seeing a game at Wrigley is on my Bucket List. Met some cool Cubs fans in Toronto a couple of years ago when they played the Jays. I told this guy from Chicago that if Lou put in Reed Johnson that he'd get a standing "O". We bet a hotdog and pop and when Lou put him in to pinch hit, the roof came off the place. He couldn't believe it, but Johnson was a "dirt" player like Lenny Dykstra was and we were pissed when he left. This concludes my

That show was great and based on what I know, it was fairly close to the actual events (I loved that they had Jason Giambi in it as a NY yellow cabbie). I don't know why they haven't released it on blu-ray.

Update on Yu Darvish. According to the New York post, the Blue Jays will be announced as the winners. The winning bid is said to be around 50 million.

It also says however that Yu makes $6 million plus another $6 in endorsements yearly in Japan meaning the negotiations start at $12 million annually.

Ground breaking began in the middle of the 06 season you're pretty accurate to what you're saying. I've been at the new place so many times, that I know some of the security guards there (a friend of mine actually works at the legends hospitality and a former co-worker from my days at Nike is the manager of the Famiglia pizza stands at the stadium).

Still just more speculation. I mean I hope the news is true, but really nobody will know until it is officially announced. I can't take all these reports anymore, they're driving me crazy! You should check the Blue Jays message board, it's a madhouse with fake reports and all of these other reports based on guessing!

Maybe so but the $12 million starting price is a reality. To me that's the bigger issue. How do you justify giving a rookie probably $15 million annually?

Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports that the Rockies have signed free agent outfielder Michael Cuddyer to a three-year, $31.5 million contract.
It's a bump up from the three-year, $27 million offer that the Rockies originally proposed, and that's likely what convinced Cuddyer to leave the Twins, who were offering him a three-year, $25 million pact. The 32-year-old corner outfielder batted .284/.346/.459 with 20 home runs and 70 RBI over 584 plate appearances this past year for Minnesota.
