She's a spoiled rotten brat, who is uncaring and probably unaware of the economic plight affecting many of her fellow Americans (if that's possible). Her words hold ZERO credibility, and quite frankly, she's a laughing stock. Her quotes should be considered comedic fodder as no one in their right mind should take this selfish dimwit seriously.

Twins signed RHP Jason Marquis to a one-year, $3 million contract.
Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reported Wednesday that the two sides were close to a deal. Marquis, 33, posted a 4.43 ERA and 76/43 K/BB ratio over 132 innings between the Nationals and Diamondbacks in 2011 before he suffered a fractured right fibula in mid-August. He's not going to blow anybody away (career 5.2 K/9), but induces ground balls more than 50 percent of the time and should eat some innings at the backend of the Twins' rotation.

I'd be worried about Beltran's health. Over the last 3 years he's played 81 games, 64 games, and 142 games. He turns 35 in April and has a lot of mileage on his legs. He's also likely lost some desire since he's already made so much money. I would have thought 2 years, $16 million was more reasonable.

Yeah it's why the Rockies pursued Michael Cuddyer instead of Beltran, not to mention Cuddyer is(I believe 31) and therefore more likely to play our his contract.

Agreed. The only incentive he may have left is that he's yet to win a ring.

What position do they want him to play ? His knees are shot, I don't think he has the range for center at this point.

In an ugly incident Texas Rangers player Yorvit Torrealba assaulted the home plate umpire in a Venezuelan Winter League game on 12/23. He's been suspended for 66 games for the incident. MLB could also take action against him.

Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports that there's still "a sizable gap" in long-term contract talks between the Giants and Tim Lincecum.
The Giants are believed to have improved upon their four-year offer from the summer in the past few weeks, but Lincecum is thought to be seeking an eight-year deal. "People familiar with the talks" tell Heyman that both sides are also weighing one- and two-year contracts in case a long-term deal can't be reached. Lincecum, 27, posted a 2.74 ERA and 220/86 K/BB ratio over 217 innings this past season. While the ace right-hander remains under team control through 2013, he could make as much as $18-20 million through the arbitration process this winter.
