Out of a bit of boredom, I threw the following together. It's a ranking of the teams, in order of who paid the least amount of money per win.

(xx) = number of wins this season
(xx%) = team salary relative to MLB average
red = teams with a losing record
blue = playoff teams

This Twins-Tigers game has been great, an excellent primer to the actual playoffs. Heading into the bottom of the 9th still tied 4-4.....

I liked Nathan's emotion there as the Twins escaped from the 9th, but...

I think the guy going back to 1st was safe.

TBS has let me down, and so far hasn't shown a good replay. They showed a quick one right after it happened, but I want a shot from close to 1st.

I suspect the umpire got caught up in the emotions.

Yeah, the Marlins in particular were crazy.

The Yankees, as expected, came in last place, and seem to overspend for their wins, but if you add in playoff wins, they can hopefully at least pass the Mets.

Is it me, or are the playoffs starting earlier this year?

Yanks play at 6pm (technically 6:07) tomorrow and on Friday.

In the past, didn't East Coast games start at 7 or 8?

If they did move it up, it's obviously because of criticism they've faced on the past for having games start too late, so that kid's couldn't stay up for the entire game, and the risk of losing the next generation of baseball fans.

5pm would be even better, but 6 is still better than 7.
