There is no reason why he shouldn't be making as much as any other pitcher in the league. The Giants should have offered at least $22.5M/season.

I know, and he def deserves it, 5@$115M would have been great, but I think he just wants to wait and see what kind of offense the Giants build, hes losing a lot of Wins becuase of our lack of scoring... Zito's contract is off the books by then So i have no doubt the Giants will offer him a bigger contract

I don't think it was a matter of money per year, but length of contract he had a problem with. I'm sorry but no pitcher should be getting more than 5 years guaranteed. I think Lincecum wanted 7 or 8.

From what I heard he wanted 7 years... NO WAY Giants do that after what happened with the whole Zito situation

Kind of like the Yanks giving A-rod a 10-year, $275 million contract in 07, boy they must be regretting that... Guys been almost nothing since he was busted for Roids... They should have voided that when they had the chance....

Doubtful, I imagine in 2-3 years he or Cabrera will be trade bait to reestablish the depleted farm system. Right now it looks like they are going to be Platooning 3 positions DH, 3B, and 1B so this will be interesting.

I can't believe any other team was willing to pay that much to Prince. The Tigers must be desperate to win now, because that is going to be an ugly contract in a few years.

He could have done the same in Toronto. Although a 9 year deal is too long. Unless of course it garnishes a couple of World Titles. Fielder's only 27 years old.....I dunno.

We probably wouldn't have won it all in 09 without him. He had good numbers in 08, 09 and 10 (not worthy of the contract though). Last year was his 1st horrible year. He'll have a bounce back season.
