The Greatest Trick Dewayne Wise Ever Pulled Was Convincing The World He Caught This Ball

Nice Cubs debut for Anthony Rizzo, going 2 for 4 with the go-ahead RBI. The Cubs are terrible right now so I'm just hopeful that a young talent like Rizzo will be the real deal.

I unfortunately wasn't able to watch the game because for some reason neither CSN or WGN was carrying the game and because Iowa is considered the Cubs home market (along with the White Sox, Brewers, Twins, Cardinals, and Royals) so I couldn't watch the game on MLB TV. The NFL blackout rule is bad but it's nothing compared to the stupidity of MLB's rule which puts me in 6 teams home market when none of the teams are within 200 miles of me.

It's bad, but not in the same league at the infamous phantom tag Knoblauch put in Offerman in the ALCS in 1999. He was nowhere close to tagging Offerman out. And that was in a huge game.

That's one of my earliest and still worst memories. Ron Gant got thrown off first base and called out, killing one of our few opportunities to score a run in a scoreless Game 7.

The Dodgers have signed 21-year-old Cuban outfielder Yasiel Puig to a 7-year, $42 million prospect. I've been following Puig as the Cubs were interested in him and everything I've read is that he's more major league ready than Jorge Soler he has nowhere near as much upside. Soler signed with the Cubs earlier this month for 9-years and $30 million. Puig could play in the majors as soon as this season. The deal has some clauses that could permit Puig to be a free agent after 4 seasons.
