That was BS but the Twins had their opportunities. Bases loaded twice basically after with the second set after the Mauer out. Someone's got to do something. The Yanks though have just monster hitters.

Yeah bases loaded nobody out. Can't get a bigger opportunity than that.

Yeah, the double call was a pretty bad one. They add the two extra umps down the line to avoid things like that in postseason games, and the guy still got it wrong.

I can understand if maybe he didn't notice it hitting Cabrera's glove, since it lightly grazed it, but the ball still clearly landed fair, so he should've seen that (had the ball landed in foul territory, it would've still been fair, since it touched Melky in fair territory).

But oh well. If Wainwright can't blame the towels, then the Twins can't blame that call. They lost despite outhitting the Yankees by a decent margin, having a few guys HBP, tons of walks, etc.

They gave up winning lead in the 9th and then strand the bases loaded. They deserved to lose that game. It's just amazing that ump missed that call. They put the extra ump out there for this very reason and he still misses it?? You would think he's a Yankee fan or something. LOL

I gotta give props to Arod and Tex, the Yanks are just ridiculous this year. Plus, the Twins left how many stranded, like 16? Ouch!

Tex seemed really excited after the win (understandably so), to the point where he was barely able to get complete sentences out, and it sounded like his voice was going to crack at one point.

As a Yankee fan and part time Twins fan (family and friend connection in MN), I feel for the Twins. I honestly don't know HOW the UMP blows that call. He was about 30 feet away which isn't that far.

Funny thing is, on the Post Game show on the YES Network, the umpire clearly knew he blew the call because he was looking at the huge screen in centerfield and suddenly put his head down and showed a demeanor of pure disgust. Twins fans are calling for a protest, but it will do nothing. A judgement call like this can't be protested.

BUT, the Twins leave 17 men on base, and blow a bases loaded no out situation? Ouch. And what was Mauer thinking by not heading home on that single? I know he's not the fleetest of foot, but bad decision (by coach or him).

Makes you wonder about some of the Umps. I saw the highlights from the Boston game yesterday. Really bad calls by the first base ump.

Trust me.. NO ONE in the STL area is blaming white towels. Also it was Wano saying that.

"He lost the ball in the 50,000 white towels shaking in front of his face," starting pitcher and would-be hero Adam Wainwright said. "It doesn't seem really fair that an opposing team should be allowed to shake white towels when there's a white baseball flying through the air. Dodger blue towels — how about that?"

Well...I made it back around 3:30. The game shouldn't have went extra innings Both teams had ample opportunities to take control.

It was definitely the most exciting game I've ever been to. It was also my first post season game so the energy was everywhere. The walk-off by Teix was probably the most memorable since Aaron Boone's home run in the '03 ALCS. The Yanks are going to the Metrodome with 2 wins. The Red Sox are down by Two games and the Dodgers are up by 2. I'm still calling a Girardi/Torre Fall Classic.

The new stadium is incredible. I knew it would be a cathedral but it's pretty close to the Roman one. The great hall is really something. The place is huge and everything is state of the art. I wasn't able to take many pictures because I didn't get there until the 5th inning. I'll put them up a little later.
