Everyone knows defensive statistics like defensive runs saved take much larger samples than 62 games to be meaningful. On a scouting basis he's looked awful, with the range of a statue. I love Chipper but he would have been moved to first or DH on any other team by now.

Braves have lost every game on Monday this year, and every one last year after Jair Jurrjens beat Ryan Dempster on August 22. 0-16 on Mondays since then. Hopefully that changes tonight!

Had Hal been in charge at that time, A-Rod wouldn't have been back (they would have let him walk) and we would have traded for Miguel Cabrera from the Marlins (this was back in the 07 offs season and we had the prospects to do it because the Johan Santana trade talk fell apart). I'm glad that Hank's brother Hal is running things. Also, to the Blue Jay fans on here who think that I'm undervaluing their farm system got me wrong. The AL east is not call the best/toughest division in MLB for nothing. With that said, for someone to say that in a certain year, that they are going to dominate the AL east is out of their mind (and they must really be off their rocker to think that the Yankees will sit sitting on their hands (or the Red Sox).

Also, the Rays are not a pushover either and ) O's have come along nicely this year (some people think that they are playing over their heads, but Buck is a very smart baseball man and I knew he would turn things around in Baltimore). I actually hope Toronto gets better. I still remember the days when SkyDome (yeah, I know it's called Roger's center but the name is stupid) would be jam packed all the time. But, I'm not sure people in Toronto care anymore about the Jays (which is sad because the Jays and Mariners share something with me, which is that all three of us came in to being back in 1977).
Agreed...with your assessment of A-Rod but hind-sight is 20/20. Other than Cabs off the field issues with the bottle, he's been a Godsend for Detroit. He's flatout, one of the Greatest hitters in the last 1/4 century. The frustrating thing up here is that we're the 4th largest market in the Majors (city's population) and continue to operate on a mid level payroll. Buck has done a Great job in Baltimore and WON'T let these guys quit (Great Manager).

I too miss the soldout "Sky Dome" (I refuse to call it "Roger's Centre--not only an embarrassing idiotic name for a ballpark, but it reminds one of a cell phone outlet). The Dome used to rock. Drunken fights, loud crowds and just a flatout good time. The city still cares about the ballclub but the Jays will ALWAYS be 2nd fiddle to the Leafs. That will NEVER change. The Leafs are to Toronto what the Yanks are to NYC, the Sox to Boston and the Cowboys to Dallas.

Strange how Wrigley field is a beloved name considering it's a brand of gum.

People hate Rogers centre more because Roger's telecom are a bunch of cheap b****rds.

Yup just look at the product they put on the field. If they spent a bit more money on the team, people would actually go to watch them because they would be much more competitive.

Your preaching to the choir. Remember, he led us to our 1st playoff appearance since 1981 back in 95.

Looks like the Phillies are going to be sellers (must have been the sweep from the Braves that did it to them). The Phils are O's are supposedly are going to complete a trade involving Joe Blaton (It's not official yet to due the teams looking at the player's medicals). Shane Victorino/Cliff Lee could be the next to go (but it's more than likely that Lee stays due to the Phillies asking for a lot and he's making a lot of money).

Yeah and Morales is a tease. He'll have these offensive explosions and then struggle for a month before he goes off again...plus he usually gets benched against lefties cause he can't hit them.

Rizzo smacks his 8th HR of the season in his 28th game...so far the Cubbies are 17-10 with Rizzo in the lineup.

Looks like he's living up to the hype.

Rumors have it the Braves have picked up Paul Maholm and Reed Johnson from the Cubs.

Apparently it's for 2 minor league pitchers, but not from the Braves top crop (Tehran, Delgado, Gilmartin).

The Blue Jays made a couple of trades today.....

1.) Jays outfielder, Travis Snider goes to the Pirates in exchange for pitcher Brad Lincoln.
2.) Jays outfielder, Eric Thames goes to the Mariners in exchange for relief pitcher Steve Delabar.

Not significant moves but the Jays desperately need pitching after all their injuries.
