Apparently it's for 2 minor league pitchers, but not from the Braves top crop (Tehran, Delgado, Gilmartin).

I've always liked Reed Johnson. He's always been a good team player with the Cubs and didn't complain that he wasn't getting enough playing time. It looks like a decent haul for the Cubs. They received Arodys Vizcaino and Jaye Chapman. ESPN's Keith Law had Vizcaino ranked as the 14th best prospect in baseball going into the season but he had a flareup with some ligaments that he had repaired with Tommy John surgery in 2010. He is supposed to be fine by spring training though. Chapman could end up as a good relief pitcher. Both should help the Cubs in the future.

The Cubs also traded Geovany Soto to the Rangers. I don't know what happened with Soto. He was Rookie of the Year in 2008 but has been terrible since then. He's only hit over .230 once in the last 4 seasons and is hitting .199 this season. The pitching prospect the Cubs received for Soto isn't a high-end prospect so this is clearly a case where the Cubs just gave up on Soto.

I'm anxious to see who else is traded today. The Cubs and Dodgers seem to be in a staring contest to see who blinks first on a Ryan Dempster trade. The Cubs want more than the Dodgers are offering, and the Dodgers think the Cubs will eventually give in and accept their offer. There's talk now that Alfonso Soriano could be included in a Dempster trade to the Dodgers. The Cubs would definitely need to pick up a large amount of Soriano's contract if he is traded as he's due over $40 million through 2015. Soriano would also have to agree to a trade as he has a full no-trade clause. I heard Jayson Stark say on the radio this morning that Matt Garza will likely be traded as well.

We had to do something to counter all the moves by the Dodgers, hope it works out

Schierholtz was also part of the deal, who had asked to be traded due to lack of playing time, he will be missed and good luck in Philly

Scott Miller of CBS Sports is saying on Twitter that it looks like Ryan Dempster is going to the Rangers, but he hasn't confirmed it yet.

Edit: Buster Olney is now saying Dempster to the Rangers as well.
