I've also read some people say they should have put him on the 15-day DL a couple times to limit his work and just make up an injury like a sore arm. Right now he's at 127.1 innings so if they stick with the innings limit he's probably only got around 5 more starts. Davey Johnson was adamant last week that the innings limit was for real and they were going to shut him down so there's a good chance his season will be over around the end of this month.
Because no matter what people want to think, games in June & July mean just as much as games in September?

How do you know what he has and hasn't done in your city? No city is universally liked, and if you can't deal with someone not enjoying your city, you might as well not pay attention to anyone's thoughts on it.

Honestly I've been to NY once in my lifetime and it was enough for me. I hated it. John Rocker was an idiot but most of what he said years ago about the city is how I feel. Not everyone wants to live in an overcrowded city where you're forced to use public transportation everywhere. Chipper probably feels the same about cities like Toronto.

It's the city I was born in and all of my relatives still live their. I live a short drive from the city (I Love the place). The way he categorized Toronto after being there for one day.....bugged me. I'm reacting from my heart sycro. Are you saying unless I agree with negative remarks made about my hometown that anything I have to say in disagreement is invalid.

Chad, I've been to NYC twice and Loved the place. Different strokes for different folks.

Chipper's idea of fun is to go on a big-game hunt in Texas with some buddies. No, Toronto is not his type of place. Some people simply don't like big cities.

Everyone has an opinion...who cares what people think. If you enjoy the city that's all that matters.

People can talk trash about my city and I could care less.

CK--Most people I know prefer small towns or country living. I understand that many hate city life. It just bugged me when he was critical of my hometown, not whether he liked or disliked a city's size.

He said, "I don't know if you've ever stayed in Toronto, but it's not exactly Las Vegas. To say that we were plucking our eyebrows out one at a time would be an understatement".....what a douche.

No. But you are getting really offended that someone else didn't like the city. I'm from Atlanta. If somebody doesn't like the city, who gives a damn?

I just don't understand why the fact that he was bored in your city (and it seems like quite a few other players were as well), you get your panties all in a bunch.

I've lived in the Daytona Beach area all my life and like it here. But even I understand when people trash it for various reasons. There's problems wrong with every city. All cities have some good and some bad things about them. Well... except for Detroit. Detroit just sucks.

Only in Detroit could they build an arena that was obsolete before it was even open.

All hail Montreal. But please excuse the entitled red squares on the streets and our perpetually war torn roads.

Atlanta are really on a roll. Chipper having a day off every five games or so has worked out great this year.

Indeed. It helps when you play bad teams, and Atlanta gets to play a lot of those in the last 2 months.

Ben Sheets with another gem. He's 4-1 with a 1.41 ERA. Braves are 14 games ahead of the Phillies.

Also 8-2 against them this year, and won the last 7.

I think you mean, "don't get my Toronto Maple Leaf boxers in a bunch". Easy, dude, it's a Great city and more than twice the size of Atlanta. Chipper must really nod-off when he has free time during a homestand. C'mon up sometime and me and the lads will take you to a game and have a few Rickard's Reds.

Hahaha.....Detroit is one tough city dude. Other than Toronto, I've seen more sporting events (all 4 major sports) in Detroit than any other American city (Cleveland is 3rd). I LOVE going to sporting events in Motown. They have knowledgeable, loud fans but we never stick around. The ballpark and Football stadium are beside each other and right behind them is the CASS District. Lots of burned out and boarded up homes & buildings.

1. Hatt.....The Joe Rocks, man. Great place to see a hockey game.

2. "All Hail Montreal".....good one bros. Where you serious?

3. I just want the Bucs in. If that means the Braves are out then so be it.

I've been to Toronto before, though I was really too young to remember it. Though I do remember that we were sitting in the SkyDome right under where it opens up, and it had been raining earlier in the day or the previous day, and water kept dripping down onto us. I also remember an overpriced McDonald's and a ball pit or something.

But like others have said, Chipper does not do city life. He lives on a ranch in the offseason, and he lives out in the country in Atlanta. So when he's at home, I'm sure he has a blast. But I don't know how the size of the city somehow determines the quality of the city.

No more Mcy Dee's at the ballpark.

I'm simply comparing Metropolitan cities. Atlanta and Toronto both qualify. My point was that if he was bored in Toronto he must really be board in Atlanta, because there's probably less to do comparing the population of each. This has actually gotten comical for me, sycro. At the end of the day I didn't like what Chipper said, and that's it. C'mon up sometime and enjoy the city.

You should see Pierson, FL where Chipper grew up. It's only like a half hour from me but as rural and backwoods as it gets. Known as the "fern capital of the world" since that's about it's only industry.

In a sense Atlanta was always the perfect place for Chipper to play his career. The city is as southern as you're going to get with a MLB city. Lots of rural area around the city to keep a guy like Chipper happy too. I think that's a big reason why he never even really considered leaving the Braves.

Yeah. I have a cousin from Palatka that actually played against Chipper a few times in high school.
