Assuming Bryce Harper wins the NL ROY, when was the last time a ROY winner had such poor stats?

I remember Jason Jennings having a terrible ERA and winning it. I think he was close to an ERA of over 4.50. He won it largely because he pitched for Colorado and he somehow won 16 games.

Harper's stats are pretty comparable to Bobby Crosby for the A's in 2004. Crosby hit .239 with 22 home runs and 64 RBI in 151games. Harper is currently hitting .254 and ESPN projects him to end up with 15 home runs and 44 RBI in 130 games.

Does Mark Trout qualifies for Rookie of the Year? I'm not sure given he did play 40 games in 2011. I'm thinking the standard is less than 140 AB in any prior season, which he was under in 2011.

He is. A player is deemed a rookie if he plays in less than 45 games or has less than 130 AB. He played in 40 games and had 123 AB, so he barely makes it.

Yeah Mike Trout is eligible but only because of an exception made by Bud Selig (MLB commish).
