Well ya, Harper has been badly overrated. There are a lot of reasons for Washington's success, Harper isn't a big one.

Not sure if anyone saw this during the Giants game a few days ago, but I was watching live and was like

DeLorean hovercraft appears in McCovey Cove for Giants game

That's some serious stuff, as concept cars go, but wait until you see Doc Brown's airboat in action during Major League Baseball action. On Friday night, Riese navigated his inspired hovercraft into McCovey Cove for the San Francisco Giants-Colorado Rockies game. You see, where he was going, he didn't need any roads.

Broadcasters Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow were appropriately amused:

A nice play but anytime I see something like that I have to think about Bo Jackson's hit into Nolan Ryan's lip.

For non Rangers fans: Top of the second inning first batter up is Bo Jackson, he hits the ball hard back to the mound and Nolan misplays it and gets hit in the mouth. Nolan picks the ball up and throws him out at first.

Then he stays in the game and pitches a scoreless game until the 8th inning when he is pulled after walking the leadoff batter.

I still can't believe how the Nationals have handled the Strasburg situation and shutting him down soon, how can your ace not pitch gm 1 of the playoffs

... Knowing there was an innings limit cap, they should have put him on the DL mid season to let him rest or something...

Best news I've heard if they go through with this. Hard to believe they'd be this stupid and throw away their first legit chance at playoff success since moving to Washington. Go Braves.

Don't want to ruin him though. If he had an injury after his 'limit' it would change baseball forever.

All this came to fruition (with teams babying their pitchers) when years ago, the Mets had 3 top pitching prospects and they just let them pitch. They hurt their arms and never were the same.
