Not everyone wants to play in New York or Boston. The press can be merciless. Plus, he's the King in Seattle. He'd be viewed as middle of the road with the Yankees.

That would be the Boston press. They go as far as getting into player's personal lives. The NY press are not easy, but they don't cross that line (getting into player's lives). Also, not everyone can make it in NY (sports wise).
