I'm not a fan of either team but I don't know how you can keep using the fact that the Tigers made the playoffs and the Angels didn't as justification for Cabrera winning the MVP when the Angels had a better record in a tougher division. As previously mentioned, if you put the Tigers in the AL West they'd be a fourth place team, whereas the Angels would have won the AL Central if they played in it.

Because that is really all that is separating them the fact that Tigers in Angles not.

In a move that will be seen as anticlimactic at this point, Red Sox upper management intends to remove Bobby Valentine as manager soon after the season ends, people familiar with the situation say.

The belief is Valentine's ouster will come either Thursday or Friday, though that isn't known. Some people believe the Red Sox will give Valentine the courtesy of a meeting, but several people said they don't believe there's any chance he would be able to change their minds, assuming he'd want to.

"No comment," general manager Ben Cherington said by text regarding the expected imminent ouster.

The Red Sox have wilted for a second straight season in September, though this season it's more understandable considering how their original roster was altered by injuries and a big trade with the Dodgers. They are having a very similar September season; Boston is 7-21 and has been outscored 147-83 this September. And last September, when the infamous chicken-and-beer episode occurred, they were 7-20 and were outscored 172-147.

Yeah, but I'm not going to start reserving my spot on the canyon of heroes for a WS parade with this team for the simple fact that the team heavily relies on the HR. In the playoffs you can't because you're facing opposing teams best pitchers.

UPDATE: If the A's end up winning this game/the AL west, their manager should be a no brainer for AL manager of the year. The Rangers have been in 1st since April 9 and are 6 outs away from having to play a sudden death game on Fri.

We've got a bright future. Great owners who are finally investing in a farm system. A great solid foundation of core players right now (hopefully a healthy Crawford). Dodger Stadium renovations. It's exciting, especially after having to endure the McCourts for so many years. Just sucks the season is over for LA especially when everyone was just starting to click.
