Main offensive categories isn't clear cut anymore. RBI, AVG for example are considered archaic methods of evaluation. Trout is a leadoff so of course he's not going to have gaudy RBI totals. His runs scored though sure are.

Trout is the best player this year. Miggy was the best power hitter but Trout provided plenty of offensive value while being the best CF in the league.

All those moves they made weren't for this year (for the most part), they were for the future and for the new tv deal. I don't know what's happened with Josh Hamilton as the season wore on. It's the worst season I've ever seen from a player that finished 5th in the league in OPS. Pretty clearly he sacrificed some speed to gain weight to hit more homeruns, but his fielding has gone down the toilet since July. Most centerfielders catch that ball he misplayed which allowed two runs to score.

I think the pressure of being a free agent messed with his mind. He's likely cost himself 40 to 60 million on his next contract.

Disappointed Dunn isn't playing tonight. He was only one strikeout away from matching Reynolds all time mark of 223.

He will finish with the highest single season strikeout rate though at 1.47 per game.

As it stands right now, you're probably right. But if he has an amazing playoffs then his price will go up.

So Kimbrel should win the Cy Young. He's done things never before done. It's an unprecedented level of domination.

God how aggravating someone from NY can watch all the Lakers games but I'm stuck with national games only. Get the deal done Charter!!

Hitting leadoff affects, at most, 162 at-bats a year. But leadoff hitters also usually get more at-bats.
