I like what Endy Chavez is doing for the Mariners too. He's playing great defense and his hitting is solid. It's hard to believe the Mets parted with him. All of a sudden that trade back in December seems like a great deal.

I couldn't believe that when I heard it. Such a sad story. Even the way his career was. The best pitcher out there and he was a rookie and after his injury he was never the same and had to retire early.

LOL sorry but it's been awhile since 1993(the last time Jays fans had ANYTHING to be excited about)

And '96 if Leyritz doesn't assume the powers of Reggie Jackson in the World Series.

Yeah 2 in a row was very nice... and we also basically rules the AL East from 1985 to 1993 which was also nice.

Everything goes in cycles.

There is some early indication that the ball has been juiced this season. Power numbers are up so far, even after adjusting for park factors and other variables. It would not surprise me to see multiple 50-homer seasons this year if they do not change the balls mid-season.

HA! @ the 2009 Yankees.

14 runs in the 2nd inning by the Indians this afternoon... now beating the Yanks 16-2.

Tons of empty seats no one can afford. Quiet crowds as the ppl who are there, are all rich and don't cheer loudly.

Yep bad start is right.

Jays win again.

No real surprise though from Jay's fans as we have been well over a .500 club since last late June when Cito and crew took over.

I hope this will change soon! The Red Sox aren't doing better either so it is a relief.

Red Sox are aging in many areas, some injuries, suspension and just not hitting that well(Ortiz).

Not surprised honestly. Everything goes in cycles, teams like the Jays, Rays and Orioles are using alot of young talent and #1 picks, same thing happened for the Yanks and Red Sox over the past many years until now. Jays not spending any money and signing Free Agents was the right move. They are stacked with young talent. May not be great all this year... but watch out after that!

Not sure how old you are Dark Elf and i don't mean this in a mean way at all, but ok yes the Yanks and Sox have owned the the AL EAST for many years now... any mainly because they stuck with young talent and developed it... since the yanks started signing nothing but FAs they haven't won a World Series. But before that, they were awesome based on their system.

The Jays ruled the AL East from 1985 to 1993 using their farm system and more Free Agrents in the later years like Dave Winfield and Paul Molitor. The Orioles were awesome from the very late 80s to mid 90s and now the Rays are awesome.

It's all cycles. It's not all the Red Sox and Yankees. It just appears that was if you are in your early 20s or younger.
