Almost as good as the now Yankees classic when they won when the Mets dropped a fly ball.

Stop hating!

If Angels would've won, you would've said it's awesome!

That's what I thought too, but it's a win for the Yanks, so I'll force myself to accept it.

It's not their cheapest win of the year though... that award goes to the Mets game... 2 outs, Teix on first, somebody on 2nd, A-Rod pops up to 2nd base, Yankees win!

Also the win means if the Angels want to advance, they'll have to return to Yankee Stadium.

So the road to the World Series runs through New York.

Just like the good ol' days.

Actually as much as I dislike the Yankees I'm hoping for a Dodgers vs Yankees series.

I've got that game saved on my DVR...I'll be revisiting that classic during the off-season.

Haha. My DVR is too full, so I can't record much.

I have a lot of stuff from the final game at Yankee Stadium on there (the SportsCenter special, the Yankeeography, the game), and the NYY-LAA game from May 1st that I went to (Yankees were down something like 8-4 in the 8th, and won in the 9th thanks to Posada)... I actually deleted that game, and re-recorded the Yankees Classic version, since it cuts down the length a little bit.

One day someone will hopefully figure out how to get stuff from a DVR to a computer.

They should make a New York Yankees encyclopedia and put it on blu-ray with all interviews, world series, matches, bloopers etc..

That might be a bit too much, but the Yankee channel does a pretty good job. Lots of classic games, biographical shows, etc.

Can you get that channel up north?

I think you can on some DVRs (like the ones you buy in a store) but the cable co. puts a lock on the ones they rent out.

Stadium open to fans for Game 3

Yankee Stadium won't be the site of Game 3 of the American League Championship Series on Monday. But that doesn't mean it will be empty.

The Yankees announced on Sunday that they will open the Stadium Field Level and Great Hall to the public to watch the Yankees face the Angels in Anaheim as New York tries to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the ALCS.

"We wanted to provide a place for our fans to come together to cheer for our team, even if the game itself is taking place across the country," Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner said in a news release. "This is a way of saying 'Thank you' for their continued support."

Turnstiles between Gates 4 and 6 will open at 3:30 p.m. ET for the 4:13 p.m. game -- broadcast on FOX -- and fans can watch it in the Great Hall or in the open sections of the Field Level. Food and concession stands, as well as NYY Steak and Hard Rock Café, will be open and available to fans.

The decision to open the stadium was made after consultation with Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.

"I thank the New York Yankees for opening their amazing new stadium to the community, and I hope that people from all over the city will come out to cheer for the Yankees and share in what's sure to be a great night right here in the Bronx," Diaz Jr. said in the release.

I would have been down for this but too bad it's an early game and I have to get up early for class the next day. Really nice gesture by the Yankees!

Does it bother anyone else with the empty seats down behind home plate, and around the bottom bowl? I just can't ever remember seeing a Yankees playoff game and empty seats.

It is a bit annoying, but it's not like they're not sold. That's what happens when you get a bunch of rich people who would rather sit inside the tunnel and watch the game, than sit out in the rain.

Yeah, I hate that when were in the suites and people are just chit chatting and don't even realize theres a baseball game on and when I scream and cheer they look at me like I'm crazy . I thought they were still raping people for the cost and thats why they weren't sold, I'd rather they have a drawing or something 2 days before the game with empty seats if that had been the case.

Yeah, after they had issues selling them earlier in the year, they slashed the costs. I think they lowered the price a bit, and did a "buy one, get one free" sort of thing... or something.

I don't mind rich people socializing and networking in suites, because its out of sight, and the money they pay helps the team. But when they're on the ground level, it looks a bit bad on TV if they're out of their seat, and instead hanging out at the exclusive buffet.

It seems a bit weird to me whenever I see people in those seats who don't look like they could afford them. But maybe that's actually a positive sign that things are changing.
