Jeter out for the rest of the postseason with a fractured left ankle. Looks like it's not going to be our year.

I would be somewhat scared if you guys still had Rivera but you don't he died trying to play outfield this year in practice.

Detroit has the better pitching
Detroit has the better hitting

You guys have bullpen and fielding, but lets be brutally honest the edge does go to Detroit for the series, and trust me I can find plenty of things wrong with my team starting with our manager who I think should be fired for dumbass decisions like leaving Valverde in to pitch the 9th.

What you saw today is the type of shit we been dealing with all season here. Its been painful to watch our team, there a horrible team not built right with little to no depth.
You realize Detroit is playing in the same dimensions as the Yankees every game this series, right?

With Jeter out, and Granderson, A-Rod & Cano doing nothing but "K", the Tigers need to hammer these guys.....NO MERCY.

Worst part about that Jeter injury is he never should have been out there blame that on on Valverde as well. That's rough as much as I hate the Yankees as well as Jeter, you never wish injury on anyone.

Going back to Detroit for 3 straight games with a 2-0 lead would be pretty huge, especially since Verlander is the pitcher in Game 3.

It would be, but I also think Jeters injury and the way they came back and lost is going to motivate that team in ways no one can imagine.

It seems like Detroit is the Yankees Kryptonite in the post season, and if D does manage to pull it off again despite the fact the Yankees have injuries up the ass and still managed 94 wins, heads are going to roll in that city.

I can see the series being tied 1-1 but the fact that the Yankees pitcher is going on 3 days today I can also see our lineup tearing him apart and us going back to Detroit up 2-0

I guess you have to hate greatness lol. I'm hoping this wakes these sissies up and they start hitting. Jeter was the only one who consistently hit all of the playoffs. Now he's gone. That's a huge blow. Hopefully he will be able to start the season next year.

Lmao some of these assumptions you make are too much. Detroit as Yankee kryptonite. C'mon dude . We're our own enemy. If we tore the Orioles up and were now shut down by DET then you could make that argument but we've been struggling all postseason and in reality all year with BA w/ RISP. That has been a huge issue all year for us.

So you were your own enemy in 2006, and 2011? Cause I seem to remember we swept you in 2006, in 2011 they put up a decent fight but we still for the most part owned you. The Yankees have no problems with Detroit during the regular season but for some reason they have huge issues with us in the postseason.

Yes you guys as a team are batting .216 during the postseason this year, and yes thats a huge issue. The worst thing that could have happened to your team did, starting the series back to back after going 5 games with 2/3 of the last of them going into extra innings.

You guys are now forced to rely on A Rod, Granderson, and Ibanez, with the hopes that CC does not implode on the mound against us yet again in the postseason. Petite pitched good yesterday but i honestly think he was given some of those pitches in the first and second innings yesterday, but lets look at the rest of your rotation now, past CC and Petite you guys have noone.

Losing Jeter in the infield is a dead killer for you guys because now the hot corner is wide open.

I really cant say much either because our infield is atrocious, and we don't have a catcher that can shut down a runner when attempting to steal. We have a manager that is so dead set on archaic ways that he leaves a dead closer in and is still insistent on the same closing rotation that has bit us in the ass all year.

You're bringing up a series that happened 6 years ago lol. Again how is that relevant now seeing as how both of the teams have changed big time since then. 2011 you had the best pitcher and he brought the rain down on us. Can't argue with you there. Fister came up huge in game 5 as well. You guys were better than us last year. Prior to the playoffs starting I thought we would beat you in non-Verlander started games. But then the wood bats started to turn into wiffle ball bats and now it looks like we don't have a chance. Our pitching has been phenomenal in the playoffs. I can't ask for more from them. Maybe if Girardi didn't treat the time between Pettitte leaving the game and the bottom of the ninth as a blowout, we might have won last night. Instead he puts in Lowe smh....

I'm hoping Tex can start hitting for power. He has a solid BA but it seems he either walks or singles. I need some more XBH from him. Granderson, Swisher, and A-ROD are dead to me. I never liked him and was against resigning him. I want Swisher to walk, trade Grandy for some prospects and sign BJ and Hamilton. It's not going to happen but that's what I would try and do.

As for the rotation, you really don't do your hw. Kuroda has been a solid pitcher this year. He should be close to a 20 game winner if he actually received some run support this year. I hope we resign him in the offseason. Hughes as a #2 would not be too good, but he's our #4 pitcher and he's solid in that role. He's put up great performances and he's put up some not so good performances, but I trust him with the ball. You may have the best pitcher in your rotation, but I'll take our whole staff over yours.

When Cano is not hitting, the Yankees' lineup looks very vulnerable and frail. A-Rod looks like he is having problems touching anything over 90 MPH.

He was so hot coming into the playoffs. He was hitting like .500 over the last week and a half of the season. I don't know what happened .
