Benching Swish I agree with. A-Rod has very good numbers against Verlander, but has been lost at the plate lately. Although the offense has been atrocious the Yankees CAN beat Verlander. Gardner and Nunez have speed if they get on, but Gardner hasn't hit the ball in a while and is going up against one of the best pitchers in the game. We are the underdogs now so all the pressure is on the Tigers to wrap things up. If we can pull out a win tonight we have CC going tomorrow with a chance to tie the series. One game at a time.

You can tell the Yankees really want to get rid of A-Rod though. To bench him against a guy who he has good numbers against, in a game that’s almost like an elimination game. The blood cannot be good between Girardi and A-Rod right now. Girardi must have received praise from the brass to make this decision.

Statistically A-Rod has done better as a DH this year. I would have considered him in the DH spot tonight adding to the fact his numbers against Verlander.

Nunez at short is a huge gamble. Any ball that is hit his way I will hold my breath, lol.

While they could have put Jason Nix at SS, Nunez has more power (but Nix is a better bunter) and more speed. If we lose this game, this series isn't going past game 5. A-Rod really is going to have to make a lot of adjustments during the off season because he's here for 5 more years.

^I do hope they put A-Rod as DH tonight, he does have the numbers against Verlander. I'm missing the game because I have a night class tonight

Really hope there is any sign of offense tonight. Come on Yankees, win for the captain!
