I don't come in here much, but I'm a life-long Tiger fan and am pumped! Kinda want to play the Cards to get revenge from our last WS apperance when we should've beat them. Plus, SF's lineup & pitching kinda scares me.

Why do the Red Sox keep going after managers with little to no history of success? And why would they trade ANYTHING for one?

I'm glad they took Farrell off our hands, he was never going to resign with us after this coming season anyway. There were also rumors of management and Farrell not seeing eye to eye on the direction to take the team, so I'm not surprised we only gave him up for Aviles.

Agreed Bros. From all reports the clubhouse had gotten out of control and NO ONE was being held accountable. Time for a hard ass to move in and take control. Time for this talent to perform.....End of Story.

I stand by my Cardinals since I"m from St. Louis, but I'll admit, they lucked into the playoffs this year, and don't really belong there, but tonight, they are playing like they don't belong there....=(

You never know with MLB. In 2006 the Cards took 7 games to win the NLCS while Detroit won the ALCS in a sweep. The Cards kicked Detroit's ass in the World Series.

Leyland has made them practice and play exhibition games against a minor league club from Fla. on Sunday and Monday. He wants them sharp, unlike the '06 "Series" when they waited around for 6 days, then got pounded.
