Good Lord, really wish that the O's would make a decent move for a conistent bat to go in the batting order, at least. So far, their biggest moves have been to resign Nate McClouth and sign Jair Jurrjens. Can they really think they're gonna have repeat success like last year without making a good move? I love this team, but boy, is it ticking me off.

ARod may not deserve the money, but for the love of all don't save the Yankees from themselves.

If it were me I'd void the contract but make the Yankees give his remaining money to charity. Everybody wins!

There's no way the Yankees are going to be able to void A Rod's contract. MLB contracts are pretty much guaranteed regardless of what the player does and suspicions (or even proof) of PED use isn't near enough to void a contract. The only way the Yankees are getting out of that contract is if A Rod can't play again and the insurance company has to pay the salary.

Would be nice if MLB used him as a lesson for all. Honestly if the stars get caught using PED MLB should be able to void the contract but only after there is proof. This would be a good way to finally get some control over the sport. I know I heard this year players were subject to something like 6 random tests at MLB discretion. Right now if there is now way to void a contract then the player suffers no repercussions no matter what they do its is a backwards system.

Well, he will miss 1 1/3 seasons if MLB enforces a suspension.

Ya, Yankees won't get out of that deal. MLB contracts are pretty much ironclad. And it sounds like this evidense against A-Rod was leaked. It probably would not hold up in court anyway. I think the Yankees tried to do this with Giambi's deal years ago and they failed.

A-Rod is technically not a repeat offender so it would be a 50 game suspension.

Melky on the other hand, well it depends if those records are new or if they were from before his first suspension.

If the information just shows up on their door, it's admissible in court. It's only inadmissible if they violated the law to get the information.

I don't like the thought of a system that allows a team which gives out stupid contracts a chance to cherry pick if they want to keep the contract or not.

Buster Olney had a good post today about how the MLBPA needs to step up and ostracize its members using PEDs like they did with replacement players. He said they should introduce a new punishment scheme: 1st violation, you're out for a year; 2nd and you're gone.

Prado signed a 4 year 40 million dollar extension with the Diamondbacks. Hating that Upton trade even more now. Upton will make 9.75, 14.25 and 14.5 million in the next three seasons. Unless Prado was absolutely leaving at the end of the year from Atlanta, I would have kept him.
