I'll bet as usually it's Japan or Cuba winning this thing. Those teams have the most cohesion. Cuba actually already beat Japan a few days ago.

Here's the full video with English broadcaster crew. It seems obvious What happened is Mexico was getting crushed, didn't like the Canadian player bunting late in the game and the Mexican pitcher decided to purposely throw at the next batter. That pitcher actually tried to hit the batter twice before succeeding on the third pitch. Completely Mexico's fault for instigating it.

Going even further the Dodgers 3B Luis Cruz instigated the fight telling the pitcher to bean the batter. How wonderful.

Don't know about WBC, although isn't Mexico pretty much done? Wouldn't surprise me if MLB suspensions are handed out. Just hope Adrian Gonzales wasn't a major contributor to this fight.

Most likely they are. Italy has advanced and the other spot will probably go to whoever wins the USA-Canada game.

Alfredo Aceves was one of the guys right in the middle of the melee getting punched and throwing haymakers. I'm sure the Red Sox aren't too happy right now.

No, the reasoning is likely because of the stupid WBC rules that go against the "unwritten rules". In baseball, you don't run the score up late. Except in the WBC, if there is a three team tie, the tiebreaker deals with run differential. So Canada was violating an unwritten rule by playing by a written rule.

It isn't known how much he'll make, but a good foreign player usually makes about $12,000 per month in Taiwan. Manny Ramirez is the third-highest paid baseball player of all-time (behind A-Rod and Jeter) with over $206 million in earnings and will make over $8 million this season in deferred salary from the Dodgers, so this isn't about the money but trying to prove he deserves another shot in MLB.

n/m. Appears he already served his 50-game suspension in AAA.

Ya, he served it in AAA with Oakland and was never called up to the majors last year. I don't know what he's doing here. He's over 40 and won't work his way back into MLB even if successful in China. "Manny being Manny" might fly with MLB teams when he was hitting .340 and obscene power numbers, but not when he's over 40 and a shell of himself.

In trying to think "out of the box" to patch together his injury-ridden lineup, New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman first had conversations with the agents for former All-Star first baseman Derrek Lee and third baseman Scott Rolen.

On Monday, he turned even more creative, asking reporters to put the word out on Twitter that he is interested in talking to Chipper Jones.

"If Chipper wants to come back, I would love to have Chipper," Cashman said of Jones, who spent all 19 of his seasons with the Braves.

Jones has repeatedly said he is not going to come out of retirement. Still, with Kevin Youkilis' ability to play first, Cashman thinks Jones would be a "perfect" fit, so, unable to locate Jones' agent's number, he turned to the media for help to reach Jones.

"I figured that is the quickest line of communication -- Twitter," Cashman said. "I already know the answer, but I figured I might as well throw it out there."

After the news hit Twitter, Jones' agent, BB Abbott, called his client. Abbott said Jones got a chuckle out of Cashman's interest.

"He was part amused, part flattered," Abbott told ESPNNewYork.com.

Abbott said if Jones ever considered a short list of teams for a return, the Yankees would be on it. Ultimately, though, Jones' legacy is as a Brave and he reiterated that he has no interest in coming out of retirement.

The Netherlands eliminated Cuba from the WBC!

Andrelton Simmons hit a 2-run HR to tie it in the bottom of the 8th. 2-4, 3 RBIs on the day. And then the CF hit a sac fly in the bottom of 9th to knock in Andruw Jones for the win.

The Netherlands and Japan are in the final 4.

Hah, check out the Netherlands roster. Almost none of the players have traditionally Dutch names. They probably just put together a team from their Caribbean dependencies like the Dutch Antillies.
