Like many folks around here, I tend to be able to remember what I have and haven't seen, the personnel involved, year of release, etc.

Well, last night I put on this certified Wings Hauser masterpiece and realized I'd seen it before, possibly more than once. I could anticipate certain lines and events moments before they happened. At first I was a bit weirded out, because I literally have no memory of seeing this, but it must've happened I guess.

In any event, this is the best kind of mediocre 80s action movie -- a very Cannon-esque, "let's cram in as many clichés as possible" type of venture. I think the reason Hauser works so well in a role like this is because he can't quite sell the action, the one-liners or the personal drama, but he opens his eyes real wide and gives his all anyway -- you can't help but root for the guy.

But this is just an appetizer; Vice Squad is due to get a release shortly, thereby signaling that blu-ray, as a format, has finally "arrived".

I watched it last night... and the picture quality is so/so. It's obviously an older scan from MGM, and the detail is a little soft. It's serviceable, but the transfer certainly isn't going to win any awards.

The sole extra is the original trailer.

This is apart of the going OOP sale on Shouts site and unfortunately is out of stock. Managed to grab one on Amazon though. This is a fun movie, I always enjoy Wings Hauser and his performance here is no exception. Also grabbed Vice Squad, which I've never seen, but I'm very excited about and will probably check out tomorrow night.

I think many will agree that VICE SQUAD is Wings Hauser's most memorable, iconic and maniacal role. You won't be disappointed.

Sounds great. He's pretty memorable everytime I've seen him, but from what I know about it Vice Squad sounds like something I'll enjoy so I can't wait to see what he does.
