Could someone / someones confirm if this is exactly the same transfer PQ and AQ wise than the french release?

I know the xtras are different.

Ill appretiate! I want to get this but the french release is much cheaper to my beaten pocket this month.

I was disappointed the 2006 Blu-ray didn't have it or the French release but they finally got it right.
Only niggling irk imo is the title Silent Hill being on the bottom... Didn't need it since the "Welcome to SILENT HILL" sign was right there large as life. Think we can figure out what movie it is lol...

Did you order from Target online? I don’t recall ever seeing a Scream Factory release in stores.

I'd love to answer, but have never seen the French disc in action.

But no answer is better than the standard "well, it is Shout we are talking about so surely it's worse compression" replies most of their offerings get.

I also think most who do have the French disc (Shout haters or not), heard it was from the same source and skipped the Shout version.

My educated guess: it's slightly different. If that leans good or bad, I cannot say. I know The Thing steelbook used the Arrow transfer and that was slightly different, so it stands to reason this would be too.

Hopefully someone will answer y'all soon.

I don't have the French blu-ray, but this release from Shout looks and sounds terrific.

I don’t have the French version either but compared to the Sony release the PQ/AQ both are much better on the shout release

Isn't the French disc heavily prone to disc rot?

I usually don't go much for SF's talking head featurettes, but the Paul Jones interview was really terrific.

are the extras on this worth it?

I watched the french blu last night, this movie looks gorgeous, love atmospheric gory horror films.

Does Shout have any kind of sales?

how low you think this set can go?

22usd plus shipping and customes to spain is 39 usd. too much for me now.

If you have the 2 disc French set, I’d say you don’t need the Scream release. If you just have the one disc French set, then get the Scream release.

wait... i've got the FR 2-Disc, so you mean the first FR disc would be inferior than the new SF release?

For what I understand the french disc is same transfer as the new US one,
what he means is there are a lot of reports that the french disc that was included on the 2 disc french edition becomes faulty overtime,
the new french one disc edition corrected that.

I want to get the US disc, but I most wait for it to come down in price,
but from what I see Shout factory doesnt make a lot of sales and there
movies almost always mantain the same price tag of 20-22usd, correct me if Im wrong.
