There are some characters I personally don't feel any strong affection for compared to others. Dr. Strange is one of them. I respect the character and his place in the Marvel Universe, but he was never a favorite of mine. So when it comes down to it, he's the kind of character that I appreciate more when teamed up with characters that I do love, as opposed to being in his own story. So I'm looking forward to seeing him in Infinity War, even though I don't expect to love this Dr. Strange movie.

Im no Strange dude myself but ive read plenty of Defenders comics, and Marvel is smart for rounding out the styles of super hero films. The mystical stuff will bring a fresh dimension.

Yeah, I just signed up for passes to the IMAX 3D Regal theater here in H-Town. Is this a complete segment of the film(ala Nolan's last 2 Batflicks and Star Trek Into Darkness) or just a montage of clips?

Will probably be at least one complete scene/sequence and will end with a trailer-type montage. That's basically what they did for the IMAX preview of Ant-Man that was attached to Jurassic World; they started at Scott getting punched in prison and ended at the beginning or end of the scene where he works at Baskin-Robbins IIRC, and then ended with a montage.

I know a couple of members here that will be pretty excited about this:

If you didn’t know this movie was connected to 13 movies before it, nothing in this movie would indicate that was the case. This is very much a standalone introduction to a very complex character and a very complex world, which through this movie and until maybe some upcoming movies is relatively self-contained. There are people inhabiting the same world that are stopping buildings from falling down, robots from doing this, aliens from doing that – these people in this movie are stopping inter-dimensional forces from wiping out all of reality.

So although it doesn’t necessarily come up, we’ve always assumed that the sorcerers have bigger fish to fry when they hear there’s something in a city or there’s a bank being robbed. They’re not thinking about it. They’re thinking if we don’t keep vigilant our sense of reality will disappear, and there won’t be a bank to rob and there won’t be a city to be conquered.
