I would say newer high end tv’s would likely have more accurate picture but again every tv is different so you won’t know unless you have a meter. I don’t understand your last point? If snow looks like piss and clouds are turquoise then your settings are way off.

Now of course you and Geoffy are right that the only way to know your panel matches up is to pro-calibrate it, but I doubt the differences are so vast as to suddenly put my dE into the stratosphere. You can get a generally accurate set if you research. My old Vizio was not a generally accurate set. Honestly I can tell my Samsung is very accurate just from A) looking at it, since I'm used to an accurate image, and B) comparing it to my older TV and my PC monitor, which are calibrated. I know dozens of calibration nerds are having heart palpitations reading that, but I'm not discounting calibration. If I knew I'd be keeping this TV for years I'd probably have it done anyway. However the idea that you can't get a generally accurate image without it is kind of extreme, IMO. |

I was very reluctant returning my LED for the OLED having calibrated a few 2016’s for some friends. I wasn’t really sold on them. But I landed an incredible deal so I pulled the trigger and I can say in all honesty it’s the best display I’ve owned and feel I made the right decision. Whenever I buy a new toy the novelty wears thin but not my OLED ![]() |

I got a weird dumb question and I know this isn't the digital forum but we're already off topic so I figured I'd try-
I bought the 4K Oblivion last week and haven't yet redeemed the digital copy. I have a digital copy of the movie from when I bought it on Blu-ray a few years ago. Is this one of the digital titles that was automatically upgraded to 4K? Basically, is there any reason for me to redeem the copy that came with the 4K version? Thanks in advance, the whole some-4K-digital-copies-redeem-in-4K-and-some-don't thing is endlessly confusing to me. |

I'm afraid I'm stuck with LCD. As wonderful as OLED is, it's limited to a 65 inch screen size for we mere mortals who don't have ~$15 K for the 77 inch version. A projector is a nonstarter for me too because I am unwilling to give up HDR. This makes LCD the only game in town so far, for me at least. I keep hoping that big screen versions of OLED sets will get cheaper but have seen few signs of it.
