Bruce Lee is not fitting for Bruce Lee?

Remastered could mean something as simple as a new encode of the same aliased old transfer. Warners penchant for trotting out ageing video encodes on Anniversary releases has made me far too cynical.

A cracked up image of him smeared with blood isn't, no. Of all the images they could have gone with, it's unfortunate they went with this. Even the Enter the Dragon lettering with the slashes for the N is pretty terrible. It just seems pretty amateurish

I agree and it's a shame they went this route. I'll never understand this new wave photoshop mentality. Also I notice it doesn't say "40th Anniversary" on either box or the amaray, unless I missed something.
Maybe a slight chance that this is temporary artwork.

I don't see how this release affects MM in any way, shape, or form...short of being from WB. Were I you, I'd just assume that MM2 will just be a recycled disc. Again, one has nothing to do with the other.
My comment had more to do with studio priorities than anything, it wasn't an attempt to diss "Enter the Dragon."

Yes indeed.

True...does anyone know if it received a new scan?

Oh I get it; it's from the room of mirrors at the end of the movie.

I'm not really liking the art either. Too modern (though we're lucky Bruce Lee himself is a major selling point, or it could follow the trend where characters' faces are cropped off so we can't tell they're Asian). If a custom doesn't get made I suppose I could whip up a front and spine from the original artwork.

Relieved that the packaging isn't huge like the giant boxes of junk from WB in the past. If it's about the size of the Anchorman BB-exclusive, I'll be satisfied (take up less space in the closet).

Since I only paid about $8 for the current release, I'm definitely in.

has anyone else noticed the part where the audio is dubbed with someone else's voice instead of Bruce's...I think its the "deleted scene" that was added back into the film(talking to Roy Chiao?)...I hate to think it but I remember reading Bruce passed out in the spring of 73' while dubbing his voice because there was no air conditioning...maybe I'm wrong...

Actually, isn't that what they did with his face in some scenes of "Game of Death" ... I think you meant "passed" ...I'm unaware of that being someone else's voice, but I don't know for sure...

Bruce was dubbed by Warrior's Journey director John Little in that scene. supposedly the audio was never recorded/lost so when the scene was re-integrated into the film, Little dubbed the lines. The G.O.D. lost footage was also dubbed by Little.

Maybe if you had some patience, WB will announce specs, THEN everyone will know. It's THREE months away. And no, I don't find it strange.

I'll buy this day one regardless of the artwork and everything else. The last time I purchased this movie was back in the late 90s when the 25th Anniversary DVD came out, I was in Grade 8 I believe and was stoked to go buy it. Time to upgrade I guess lol

Thanks, I knew I wasn't the only one privy to that information.

I want to get this, but I'm not going to be displaying it. I think the artwork is horrendous. Not that that hampers my enjoyment of the actual film, but I do enjoy nice art. This just looks like something that could have belonged on a bargain bin VHS release.

Wondering if... we'll ever get the precious Bruce Lee Game of Death footage from "A Warrior's Journey" on HD.

I don't like it but I've seen worse for sure. If they just get the A/V quality right I'll be happy. If that happens I will get this when the price is reasonable.

Wow, interesting...never knew that, thanks for the info .

Like the patience I'm sure everyone on this particular thread would've shown had Warner announced the upcoming 40th Anniversary release of "Enter the Dragon" without disclosing that it was remastered ?

I'd say it's highly unlikely.

Yeah, but one thing you're overlooking here:
Enter the Dragon is a 40th Anniversary Edition, while the Mad Max set is just a cashgrab for the upcoming Fury Road theatrical release.
Kind of a big difference there. As a MM fan, I hope it gets the audio upgrade, but I'd be foolish to count on it.
Plus I'd venture Enter the Dragon is much more iconic than the Mad Max films. Probably even more so now that Mel Gibson has gone from Hollywood elite to raving lunatic, which puts off a lot of fans.

Cover-art for the original blu-ray is much better. I'll probably just switch out the new cover with the old one and sell the new slipcover if I can.

I guess it's more apathy than "like", but I figure it will be sitting on a shelf with just the spine showing 99% of the time, so I don't mind it.

I did like the red cover with the drawn artwork of the current Blu-Ray, though. Very cool vintage poster type feel.
