Paramount is really doing the right thing and should be commended.

The number worked for me about a 1/2 hour ago, I suspect they
are flooded with calls and temporarily shut it down.

Universal has the distribution rights outside the US and Canada. They did not do an exchange program in the Netherlands where the remastered version is already available. Whether they allow one in other territitories is "up in the air."

Because the first images came from AVS and were quickly
mocked by many here. Clearly in the new comparison screen
shots the difference between the original and re-mastered
version are tremendous.

I'm glad I didn't purchase the original one on Black Friday as I considered doing (Even with the announcement of an exchange program).

Will pick up the new version one day when I can get it for $15 or less

It sounds a lot like the same response Universal gave when people complained about "lass of bass" on the DTS DVD release of Jurassic Park. It was not missing bass but rather the DTS track on the original DVD release came from the original studio elements. However, fans were expecting a huge booming bang thunderous experience...so Universal redid the DTS track with hotter bass and provided an exchange program.

Essentially, you either see the junk in the transfer or you don't. Either way:

to Paramount US for providing an exchange (and yeah, I believe I was one of those people berating others who wanted an exchange program). That is a lot better than Universal Netherlands who did no such thing.

I just called the number. The lady from Paramount took my name and number and said that she will be hopefully calling me by the end of the week when the program gets 100% up.

They're certainly under no obligation to, something that the people badmouthing them should really think about

Along the same lines, does anyone have the number to call about "Saving Private Ryan"? I still have the old copy which I purchased from a third party and thus have no receipt for it to exchange in-store.
