two each its own,but you and others have paid paramount for a job not well done.i wonder if you would do the same if it was your bathroom or a paint job on a car.Mmmm.
It depends.

Do I get to see that bathroom or paint job on my car before I make the decision?

Or should I just rely on some bathroom and paint job enthusiasts on the internet who did or did not look at the bathroom or paint job on my car, and rely on their input?

but we are talking about again dnr and ee applyed to gladiator.that has noting to do with how a film is shot ,film stock or anything.

its about a important title on blu-ray and how a studio f&*k it up.
i know you agree its just sounds like people that bought this title is defending the studio and trying to justify there purchase.i read one post from a guy who bought this title and was honest enough to say the pq sucks. and was sorry he bought it.

i know im on a hobby horse here but as long as we settle for 2nd best on blu-ray thats what were gonna keep getting and this format is never going to show what it can really do with pq.

Um, this format has already shown what it can do, time and time again, in the PQ department. One less-than-stellar title doesn't change that.

No, but you're the same person who busted on Ghostbusters for being too grainy and hated the transfer there. I consistently see us on opposite sides of the fence on if a transfer is good or not. I'm not condemning you for that, but when I see your posts I know that your opinion in the past is not one that I agree with.

I own the disc. It's far from perfect and the EE and DNR is distracting at times. At others I'm surprised at how good it looks. Overall I would love it if they were to recall this disc and reissue it with a new master. Until that time comes, this is the best that this movie has to offer. I am a huge fan of the film, and thus it is a disc I own and will watch. (The same holds true for Dark City, by the way.)

There doesn't appear to be any one transfer of top quality from beginning to end then. They need to spend the cash to make a new one.

maybe not for people like bill hunt and others that talk to the studios, but we can.they need to know with colorful words or not how the hell we feel.

beta you know this dnr ee thing is not new and the studio said they were working to change it[from digital bits] its not happening and people are getting ugly.

why take the high road here.nice guys finish last, you have heard that right!
these studio bozos are so thick in the head you need to put a hammer to them.there...... not ....listening!

tell me what gonna happen if people get nasty with them ,pull the plug on blu-ray. if enough people ***** about it they will have to address it.

Isn't a lot of the reason for the abundance of DNR/EE in this case to compensate for the low quality master? If they had a better master they would not have needed it. I don't think it's a case of simply just using EE/DNR for the hell of it.

I agree with you there. I hope people WHO PURCHASED IT and are UNHAPPY let them know.

Writing an e-mail might not change anything. But silence certainly won't.

Are you guys still arguing about this crap?

The movie only costed $17.99....$7.99 if you own the DVD. How do you argue for weeks over something that costs less than $10??

I totally agree, they have to make a new one, but Gladiator on Blu isnt as bad as people say, remember most people buy sammy's and panny's and thats the end of the story. lol I called Paramount and I told them how I feel and she said she is happy to hear that I am satisfied and that its better then the DVD version. Thats all that matters right? or am I wrong again?
I will pray to the Gods and hopefully they will bring me fortune so I can buy every bluray player and disc available so I can review Gladiator on all of the players ever made. Caesar I salute you!!!

As someone pointed out, it could have been $1.00. That doesn't mean it's worth $1.00 if they did a crappy job on it.

I think people are arguing about the bigger picture here.
