Clearly I cannot be certain of that, and neither can anyone be certain that such a master does not exist. But if we ask ourselves what is the most likely scenario, given that a decent HD version has been broadcast on TV, then either the Blu-ray was made from a different master (by accident, for example), or someone used the same master as was used for the HDTV broadcast, but decided it was too grainy and misguidedly applied DNR and EE in producing the Blu-ray from it. These two possible scenarios seem the most likely explanations to me, given the superior quality of the HDTV broadcast.

Funny thing I thought when I viewed Braveheart that it was is going to be hard to not want to keep watching it because it looked great. I got it this past Sunday from a BV store as a rental for those who didn't know.
Since release day on Tuesday, I haven't even put in Braveheart once. I do like Gladiator more than Braveheart and the quality is more than acceptable and better than I have experienced for both sound and picture with the SD DVD DTS ES copy but obviously the PQ is not as good as Braveheart. All told, guess it really is about the movie being the priority and not PQ and AQ and I can see why lots of folks are liking it especially since the experience is even more rewarding! |

Yeah really, It only won best picture. I think that these 2 movies are too much alike, even has some same actors in both! There can be only 1, 3 hr movie pre 1500ad. Sorry Alexander but you sucked hard.
