I just got a return phone call from Paramount. The guy said he was returning my call from over a week ago when I called the initial phone number. I told him that I had already sent my disc in for exchange and he said "Oh, well then you're good to go." So I asked what the correct P.O. Box was and he said 801464. So anyone shipping to a different P.O. Box is probably going to have a longer wait or you may not get the remastered disc at all.

Called and got the same address as others. I just dropped it in the mailbox so we'll see how long it takes now.

Another thing to look at to tell the difference should be the number on the underside of the disc. It begins with NA and a series of numbers. The CSR had me read it to her to verify that I have the incorrect disc. Unfortunatly since I already mailed it I can't say what the bad version is but if others want to give us the bad and good numbers that should be a definite way to tell a difference.

It's rather hard to read but if you angle it correctly you can make it out. It's on the underside of the disc near the center hole.

I agree! I've already mailed mine also, but if someone would be kind enough to give us the old NA number vs. the one on the remastered copy...

That would be awesome

I went to one of the 3 local BB's here and they just had 3 copies of the old one. None of them had slipcovers either. Gonna check one of the other ones tomorrow and hopefully I'll luck up there.

just picked up the remastered version at my best buy.

I concur with what everyone else is saying: still GRAY disc, no "2-disc set" on both the slip cover and actual box.

also mine had the expired 10 dollar off coupon on the front which is kind of odd.

they had a couple of the old releases still there too

I think folks might be getting a bit confused re: slipcovers. The picture above is of the keepcase inside the slipcover, and is NOT a picture of a slipcover.

As far as I can tell, there is only one slipcover. It does NOT mention the "2-Disc Set" and in the bottom right bears the serial number...

From the above picture, you can see that the old discs that have "2-Disc Set" above the Paramount logo also bear this number.

You must slide out the keepcase inside and check that for the accursed "2-Disc Set". If it does say that, it will have the serial number above.

My remaster, bought this morning from Best Buy, has the slipcover with no "2-Disc Set" written above the Paramount logo, and it bears the serial number above.

But the keepcase inside, as well as not having the "2-Disc Set" written on it, bears a new serial number in the very right corner...

11111016515

I'm surprised no one's picked up on this yet! Hopefully this post will make it a little easier for some of you to spot the new discs.

Well I meant once you open it to verify that it's the right one quickly, without having to spot-check scenes and compare screenshots and such. But yes, a sign on the outside of the case is important too (and presumably will happen soon with the yellow UPC).

You're right on with the inside case info, but you're incorrect about the slipcover. I have an original Gladiator with a slipcover that DOES say "2-Disc Set," and I have the new remastered Gladiator with a slipcover that DOES NOT say "2-Disc Set."

But I agree that checking the inside case is the most important.

Thanks for the correction! Both new and old versions at my Best Buy had the same slipcover, which did not have the writing, which I why I thought there might only be one slip.

Default Picked mine up

Local Best Buy had about 4 copies of the remastered version and one still with the 2 disc set printed.

My copy, which I haven't viewed yet DOES NOT have the 2 disc set printed on either the slip cover or the case itself. Also, I do have the $10 off sticker on the cover which again is an old offer that expired 6/30. The Blu-ray logo on the side spine slip cover and case is BLUE. The embossed Blu-ray logo on the top of the case itself is GREY. I had read something about it possibly being GREY??? The UPC code is white like the original version and I think there was some mix up on that info as to whether it should be yellow like the SPR re-issue. So, I believe I have the right version. I held off buying the original when it came out, so I can't compare. I will certainly watch this when I get home from work.

Great find I didn't even think about that

absolutely right about the serial numbers on BOTH versions of the slip cover (the one that says 2-disc set and the one that doesnt) its the old number 11111016517.

but upon checking the actual box itself the remastered version has the serial number 11111016515

I show basically the same thing:

1. Slip cover has NO 2 Disc set written above the Paramount logo, like the old version apperently does.

2. Case is "same as above"

3. Slip cover has a printed number just below the Paramount logo: 11111016517

4. Case has a printed number just below the Paramount logo: 11111016515

5. White UPS code, not yellow

With there being so many of you who already have the remastered version, why not write up an updated user review on this site? It seems as though many of you have it, but very few have given their impressions. Let us know for those of us who can't find the remastered version in stores or waiting for theirs in the mail.

Just a FYI, the one at my Best Buy with the 2-Disc line on it also has the 11111016515 serial number.

SixSpeed, we're talking about the back cover. I think all versions have "2-Disc Set" written on the SPINE of both keepcase and slipcover. Could you be referring to that when you mention the versions with the 11111016515 number?
