Was able to swap my disc at best buy I didn't expect much but the new disc is amazing

I remember those exact words coming out of people's mouths when I worked at Blockbuster from 2001-2004.

Did you have a receipt? I bought mine whenever it came out, but never opened it after reading the reviews.

Wonder if I can swap without a receipt.

I would like to know how to spot the difference on the Canadian release of Gladiator. I seen a copy at Futureshop this morning and there was no "2 Disc Set" writing above the Paramount logo, BUT the Paramount logo is on the bottom left side of the back of the case on the Canadian version as compared to the bottom right on the US release. So I don't really know if the Canadian version ever even had the "2 disc set" writing above the logo to begin with.

Any Canucks out there that know what is going on for our release?

I'm going to bring this up again, why hasn't anyone posted a user review for the remastered disc?

The last user review for Gladiator was July 4. I'd like to see the score for the movie go up, as well as read slightly more in-depth impressions from you guys. It seems all I've gotten so far is "Oh my god, it looks amazing". Like many of you, I'm waiting for my replacement disc to arrive in the mail, I need more than that!

I wish the site would make a separate listing for the remastered one, like they did for Gangs of New York.

Because most users don't have a pro setup maybe? And aren't reviewers? "It looks amazing" sounds like a typical, non-reviewer comment.

What exactly do you want to hear about it? The PQ is clean and very film-like, although not super razor sharp, at least on my 50" display. But it was a hazy, bleached-looking movie form the start so it's probably the best it can look. The color palate is robust (the blues & golds) and detail is fantastic. That's pretty much all i can say without viewing it on a better system than mine.

yeah, you've seen the screenshots right? it's the same thing. very tiny grain moving around which is what it should look like

People that had the old version are saying the new one is vastly superior. What more do you need?

Yes and of course, yes. One is the proper transfer and the other is not. Why wouldn't you want the proper edition?

Well, they finally responded to my original phone call/email (which was made 2 weeks ago). They called me back today. I already sent it out earlier in the week thanks to everybody's info input at blu-ray.com.

Look at the comparisons here, and you tell us if it's worth it.
