Do I have to call Paramount first? I tried emailing them..3 times..they never got back to me.

I saw this address @ thedigitalbits.com. Can I just mail the disc without calling?

Yes. Make sure that you put your name, address and phone number on a piece of paper in the envelope.

The point I was trying to make is that they didn't HAVE to offer the exchange program, but they did, however "sneaky" they were about it or putting the new version into distribution.

I just called them and they said they would take 2 weeks processing from the time they received the disc. A week or less to get there, plus two weeks for them to process, and a week for to get it back. seems like i will get it around the time when it first came out last year in september.

just picked one up from Best Buy, i hope it's the remastered version. there was no "2-Disc Set" on the slipcover and on the actual box, no security tape on it, no $10 off coupon on the slipcover or inside the box.

Its not bothering me, you assumer! Its because with more and more people asking the same question, there's more and more variations of answer. When there's too wide a variety on said answers, more of them are incorrect.

lol, I'm just saying...I dunno..I agree that a mod should be a definitive answer in the 1st post (I haven't checked, it might be there already) but I don't think the thread should be closed.

Still waiting for it to go on sale sub $20 somewhere so I can pick it up.

I bought the defective version a couple months back at Target for $15, along with Braveheart and the new SPR. After I found out about the problem with Gladiator and Paramount hiding the defect, I returned all of them. Now I don't trust the Sapphire Series whatsoever.

Why’d u return braveheart??? It looks/sounds amazing!!!

And if u got the newer version of SPR, that one is great on all fronts as well.

Today, I saw about 5 remastered versions of Gladiator at Best Buy but didn't bother to buy it because it was 26.99. The employee even price-matched Target for 22.99 but even that's too steep for me. When the new Best Buy opens up next week, I'll try to be one of the first 50 customers to get a $20 gift card, then I'll buy it.

Because this thread is out of control for one reason and one reason only:

NO ONE IS TAKING THE TIME TO READ THE FORMER POSTS AND DISCUSSIONS. EVERYONE'S QUESTIONS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED, COUNTLESS TIMES... BUT THE SAME QUESTIONS KEEP GETTING ASKED.

What are you talking about?

Anyway, can anyone answer these questions.

1. What is the real address for sending in the disc to get a replacement?

2. How can I tell I have the remastered version?

3. What do I look for at the store to determine if the movie is the new remastered version?

4. How much does the new remastered version cost?

5. Are the $10 rebates still valid on the new remastered version?

6. How do I know if Amazon or other online retailers have the remastered version?

7. When will I get my new disc if I send it in to Paramount for the exchange?

8. What is the number I call to confirm I have the original release of the movie ?

It's 29.99 at target, not 22.99

Because of the way Paramount handled the defective version of Gladiator, I lost all faith in them for the the Sapphire Series. I want SPR badly but I won't do it.

In almost all of your postings about this "problem" you say that you watch it in Slow-mo to better notice it.
And why in the name of god should ANYONE watching a Film in Slo-mo?

When you watch the Film in "normal viewing mode" the scratches are no problem at all.

Better than an automatic scratch/dirt Removal Tool that erases parts of the film like in the first release.

Its makes perfectly sense that universal/paramount don't do it this time.

You are missing out on some details if you are not watching movies frame by frame and extending your viewing time of the movie.

I agree. This sort of thing is barely noticeable, and I never care much anyway.
