Great point! Liabilty makes the most sense, and why studios say noting, when theses poor transfers pop up.

Stand up against their shenanigans? They pissed me off. Plus SPR is around $25 everywhere.

Waiting for a good deal now. I paid $15 for Glad and Brave, and $20 for SPR two months ago, then returned them. Haven't seen a deal like that since.

Life is too short not to have those movies, so just steal them

Kidding of course, I don't support theft of any kind (digital or physical) in any shape or form

SPR and Braveheart are def. worth picking up and now w/Gladiator being remastered....they are @ least making up for the error of their ways.

Yes, I believe every Sapphire title is now available in a format that is acceptable to everyone, free of issues.

I called and sent mine about the same time as you and I was told 2 to 3 weeks once they had received it. Strange that it would even take this long. It's not that hard to write an address and throw a disc in a envelope.

1. What is the real address for sending in the disc to get a replacement?

2. How can I tell I have the remastered version?

3. What do I look for at the store to determine if the movie is the new remastered version?

4. How much does the new remastered version cost?

5. Are the $10 rebates still valid on the new remastered version?

6. How do I know if Amazon or other online retailers have the remastered version?

7. When will I get my new disc if I send it in to Paramount for the exchange?

8. What is the number I call to confirm I have the original release of the movie ?

I rest my case. Thank you

Well right now they're 1 for 3 with a good release, so I won't hold my breath.

What's wrong with Forrest Gump?

Also, there are four Sapphire release thus far, not including the Godfather re-releases. Now that they're fixed, the Sapphire series is a great set.

Not to pick on you in particular shinseiromeo, you just are the most recent to express this opinion. The rest of this post is in regard to the general idea, not your words in particular.

This hesitance about Sapphire releases is beyond ridiculous. There's no greater odds for a Sapphire release to be messed up than there is for any Paramount release to be messed up - I'd argue lower odds, since it is their prestige line. Saving Private Ryan was an unintentional technical issue not even directly from Paramount - it was made at the authoring house. And Gladiator's original master was handled by Universal, and just shared with Paramount per their distribution agreement.

So if you're soooo scared off of buying a Sapphire title, you might as well not buy any Paramount titles. Or any titles from other studios that use the same authoring house. Or any titles co-owned or fully owned by Universal. Or or or....

IF ANYTHING, you should be VERY confident in Sapphire titles - Paramount has shown they care enough to fix them. All 4 (6 counting the Godfather titles later branded as Sapphire) Sapphire releases are now available in beautiful, glitch-free releases that stand at the top of the Blu-ray format. And for the 2 that had to be fixed with a second release, Paramount provided free replacements. Compare that to many other BD releases that have issues that were never fixed, or were fixed with 2nd releases that you had to repurchase.

When you watch the Film in "normal viewing mode" the scratches are no problem at all.

Better than an automatic scratch/dirt Removal Tool that erases parts of the film like in the first release.

Its makes perfectly sense that universal/paramount don't do it this time.
Wow, really? I'm not watching movies in slo mo. After noticing the problems while watching the movie, I only checked in slo mo and asked others to check because it would make the scratches, etc... that much easier to see, to verify they were really there, and they are, lots of 'em.

Because this thread is out of control for one reason and one reason only:

NO ONE IS TAKING THE TIME TO READ THE FORMER POSTS AND DISCUSSIONS. EVERYONE'S QUESTIONS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED, COUNTLESS TIMES... BUT THE SAME QUESTIONS KEEP GETTING ASKED.

But I wouldn’t just lock it. If I was a mod, I would type one last reply with all the facts; the facts about what's wrong with the original Blu, what's on the replacement disc, the mirror band number on the old disc, the silk screen print color, and the "2 disc" or not on the slipcover... THEN I'D LOCK IT.

And when the time came where everyone started getting their replacement, then I'd unlock it.

"Good idea, Frozenpinky"

Thank you
I know I am one of the people who asked when the answer had been given multiple times. And you know something? I don't give a damn! You don't like it? Tough! Even with 40 posts per page, there is currently 127 pages in this thread. I'm not wasting time out of my day to find a specific answer for my question in this mess.

Until one of you can find a way to make the answers to our questions obvious for people to see without having to sort through all the crap, keep your pissing and moaning to yourself.
