It is and yes it is on Amazon as well. Paramount is just slowly replacing the old one with the new stock that's all. Same upc etc... they're just depleting the old stock and silently replacing with new as the old sells out.

I received a voice mail from someone today calling about replacing my old version of Gladiator. They left a callback number and said to call back at any time and have my old disc available when I call. Has anyone else received a call like this?

Yes I got a call like that today but I spoke to someone else earlier and have already sent them my disc. They just want to verify that you have the old disc before you send it.

Unfortunately, Paramount's doing this as a replace-the-inventory correction. Until the 10th Anniversary Edition is released here (with a different SKU), there's no way to know which copy of Gladiator you'll get from Amazon (since they have several distribution centers).

So, maybe I will try to bring it back and have them look it up on their computer to verify I purchased it there. Worth a shot if I decide to go there anyway to browse the inventory. |

Hi-
This is my first post on this forum but I thought I should share my experience ordering Gladiator on Amazon.... Before ordering, I wrote to the company to confirm whether or not they were shipping the remastered copy of the movie or were still selling the old version. The original reply I got was they are selling the new one with the "yellow UPC code". This was confirmed. Fastforward to receiving the item.... After receiving the package, I opened up the box and to my dismay received a copy with the white UPC code and the '2 disc set' titled in the bottom right. I was fuming. I immediately contacted Amazon's customer service explaining the issue and they told me that they needed to contact the customer fulfillment center to confirm all of this. I basically told them that I am a looking at the copy right now and can tell you the UPC is white ![]() I finally got a reply back from them and this is what they had to say, "I'm following up on our recent correspondence regarding the "Gladiator (Sapphire Series) [Blu-ray]" in order #104-7361148-6698616. I checked with our fulfillment center and confirmed that the "Gladiator (Sapphire Series) [Blu-ray]" available on our website have the white UPC code. I'm so sorry if the information about "Gladiator (Sapphire Series) [Blu-ray]" was misleading when you placed your order. It would be expensive to return the item in this case, so there's no need to return the item. I've requested a refund , the cost of the item, shipping costs, and the import fee deposit (if any). This refund will go through within the next 3-5 business days and will appear as a credit on your next credit card billing statement. " I share this only to warn others that there is a very good chance you will not receive the remastered copy given this reply..... I will say that I am quite happy in the fact that I got the movie for free given I live in Toronto Canada and they feel it is not worth me sending it back and they are giving me a full refund. I guess I will go through the pain of sending disc 1 to California. Cheers, Myraid Last edited by myraid; 08-18-2010 at 11:58 AM. |
