I broke down and bought a replacement because I figured it would take a month going through the exchange program.

The slip covers always are copies of the disc case.

FYI, my 'bad copy' had "2 disc set" on BOTH.

My 'good' copy has NEITHER on both.

Nor do I have yellow code.

I think this is about as much info as one needs to 'decypher' this conundrum.

Forgive me for asking too many questions, but does the remastered copy have "2-Disc Set" printed on the side of the case/slipcover? Because I notice that the copies at my local Walmart does in fact have "2-Disc Set" on the sides of them, but not on the backs of 'em.

I just want to know if I should take my chances and pick me up a copy...

Lol, I just looked...YES, it has "2 disc set" on the side (binding). Just not above the Paramount logo now.

I just noticed that Gladiator is one of the top 15 deals at Amazon. I wonder why? Does Amazon have the remastered version? Are people buying the old version and sending the disc in to Paramount?
