Except that when I called the number shown in the exchange thread (1-888-889-9456) I keep getting a message you have dialed an "incorrect code".

So they may have ended the exchange program, unless they expect everyone to mail their disks to a UK address, which is the only one listed for exchange purposes now.

Can anyone tell me how the picture quality of the 2013 release compares to the 2010 edition?????????? Trying to decide which one to get.

It's just a re-release of the remastered 2010 edition. The distributors changed hands from Paramount to WB so WB released it themselves, that's all. There'd be no reason to use the crappy 2009 transfer in this re-release, you're safe!

Yep. This is actually the first time I've looked at the difference between the old and remastered transfers, and wow, the difference is startling.

Yes indeed. Unless otherwise specified, steelbook is just packaging. The actual movie will be the same as the 2013 rerelease of the 2010 remaster. There's no reason in the world to use the 2009 version that they borked. The whole reason they released the 2010 one was because it was so apparent that the original release was awful. We wiill not be seeing that again, you can count on it!

Looks like this is being released again! (just check out Gladiator on amazon and filter it by release date). I've still never gotten this on blu, but am nervous that this release might contain a copy of the inferior transfer.

Safest way is to find a copy with the yellow barcode. Also, the movie disc should have blue disc art instead of grey disc art. That's how Paramount "color coded" fixed discs such as Gladiator, Iron Man, and Saving Private Ryan.

The new steelbook has grey disc art, so may not apply to this release.
