I will buy it no matter what. I liked the way "Patton" looked. If nothing else it is an upgrade from SDVD. Way to many complaining posters

on here, sure if it not great I will hope for a new remaster. Almost every BD looks great on my Kuro.

Err... well if you read the bits he did indeed watch it (he obtained a copy before release from somewhere), and more or less confirmed the rumours.

I have to sit back and laugh now that reviews of Gladiator are coming in from people like Bill Hunt and confirming what the "screenshot scientists" over at AVS already knew. I can understand the frustration from some people who don't like their attitudes and methods of analyzing Blu-ray PQ but they have a lot of people eating crow right now and with good reason. The screenshots, in this case, were spot on and have been backed up and confirmed by Bill Hunt. EE, halo'ing and DNR all are easily seen in the theatrical version. I wonder if Paramount/Universal will do anything about this....

i got into blu anticipating this film. i went from a sure buy to a netflix pickup paramount needs to right this..

Yes and No,

Paramount USA will make a boat load of money on the package deal with Braveheart the next couple of weeks. Then next year on the 10th anniversary, they will put out a better copy (with that mystery transfer) and double dippers and hold outs will pad the income. If you were a business that had to fight for every dollar, you might not care about the us, the "forum people".

Let us not forget it is a BUSINESS!

I'm still a bit new to the the Blu-ray.com form, but i feel this is a decent post. On a daily basis I find myself curious as to whether there is any news from Paramount (via insiders, people in the know, or the company directly) on their intention to fix an apparently flawed transfer.

Yes I know, it has not been released yet. However, early indications tend to show that even if watchable, this film does not live up to it's anticipated level of overall quality, which blu-ray movie lovers have become accustomed to.

Please leave all other complaints and issues about Gladiator at the other threads. This thread is only intended as channel for updates (both current existing and future) from those described above.

Others are welcome to voice their interest, but please keep it strictly to this topic above.

Bill hunt at www.thedigitalbits.com seemed to indicate that he might know more next week.

He didn't actually say it, but he seemed rather hopeful.

Hate to break it to you guys but there is nothing to "fix". Start a petition or vote with your wallets and send Paramount the message that you are unhappy with the transfer. That is about the best you can do in this case.

I just figured over the next few weeks, the updates on this topic will likely be few and far between, and therefore lost in all the *****ing, moaning and threats of knifing paramount staff on the BIG thread.
