I think the Stargate series is not a Sony title.

Sorry for my very tardy response.

In answer to your question, no, I do not have any updates on the PS3 supporting DTS HD MA...

Paidgeek,

Can you provide any insight into why Fox keeps delaying titles? We are getting very frusterated with them.

Whether or not they can get the players to work, the PS3 owners will be able to enjoy the DTS-MA in just a few more months with the new receivers coming from Denon, Sherwood, Onkyo and Sony.

Thanks, Paidgeek, I appreciate the great no-nonsense info you give us all. Very refreshing! Please do push those PS3 firmware folks to work on the decoding, though, so we can start showing off the audio on our BDs...

Paidgeek, CR looks stupendous but mmm.. why can you only choose Thai subtitles (Corean for the special features) from the main menu folders?
(The other ones are selectable from the remote)

paidgeek:

I know that you can neither confirm nor deny the "unofficial" release sked for June, but hypothetically speaking, would the "Hellboy" release be the Director's Cut (or even both w/seamless branching)?

They are concerned about the ripping of BD-ROM using the posted attacks and are working on a solution. Hopefully this will all be resolved in a few weeks.

Thanks. I figured that's what they were doing, as they're big on protecting their content.

Will this be the BD+ implementation we've been expecting?

Cool! I did not know this. Any links?

Are there any pre/pros on the horizon that will decode the new formats??

It is not obvious, but when you go to subtitle selections, you will see a arrow at the bottom. Highlight and select that and you will see the other languages...

I've read that it is ideal for the player to do all the audio decoding instead of the receiver.... why?

I suspect this is partly why Universal also went on sabbatical for HD DVD.

What you are saying is rather significant since it means Fox are delaying titles specifically because of piracy issues.

Depends on your equipment. Most medium range receivers will do DD and DTS better than your player, so send those bitstream. Everything else as PCM.

I think he is talking about the new audio codecs such as DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD etc.

Well, the the only choice right now is to have the player decode them and send them as PCM.
