I leave mine on all the time. I only turn it off maybe once a month.
It is really cool cause it does keep adding up, plus I hear that there will be another program (Life with PlayStation i think) that will run F@H in the background while you do stuff.
At one time, I got up to position 22, but more and more people are joining and often with more than one PS3 (my pc and mac don't process fast enough) and I have been pushed back to the 30s. That is ok, since the goal in the end is to help with medical diseases and the like. So I gladly will be pushed back farther if it means more people dedicating more processing and time than me to this goal.

If your mac (or pc) is processing correctly, unlike the PS3, it could take days, or weeks to process one work unit. Seriously.
But if you really aren't getting any progress, maybe there is a problem with the setup.

Soul Calibur and Civ cut into my folding time, along with a bunch on new BDs.

What?

Advanced mode simply gives you larger WUs that take longer time to complete. It is aimed at the more dedicated folder somebody who leaves it on for 24/7 or days at a time.

My first WU took over a over a day to complete. Now is this normal? Will this WU even get sent back to Stanford? I read the usual length to complete a WU is 8 hours. Just wanted to know if anyone elses WUs have taken longer than the 8 hours. My PS3 is not hardwired if that makes any difference.

I've had wu's that have taken over a day to complete. Seems like the higher you go, the bigger the work units take.

I have advanced mode off and still get 36 hour units.

I have not been folding since Thursday on account of a hurricane and all.

I was about to post this because one of my friends was listed as "playing it".

I asked him how and he said launch F@H and its an update. But I did and nothing was there so I dunno whats up.
