Default Nvidia GPU servers down

Just a heads up for anyone who is folding with nvidia gfx cards, the servers at stanford are currently having major issues accepting work units and a lot of clients are sitting idle. I'll update when i have more info but it could take a while to get fixed.

Come on, let's lend the power of our PS3 and pave the road to the cure for cancer and many more diseases!

Folding@home™ has been integrated into Life with PlayStation®

Start your “Life with PlayStation”

+ Posted by Noam Rimon // Sr. Development Manager SCEA R&D

If you’ve ever wished you could find everything you need to start your day on your PLAYSTATION 3, Life with PlayStation gives you one more reason to do so. This free service delivers a new way for you to utilize your PS3 to instantly access real-time news and information like weather updates from over 60 cities around the world.

Life with PlayStation provides a stunning interactive globe, a 3D world map that you can twirl around to see live cloud movement courtesy of the University of Wisconsin, combined with up-to-date weather information from the Weather Channel, top news headlines provided by Google news, and live web cam images via the Earth Television Network — all localized to the select city. And why not have your favorite soundtrack playing in the background while you go through your morning ritual (just think, no TV commercials and teasers to find out if you need to bring an umbrella to work)? You’re on your own for your morning caffeine fix.

For those following the progress of Hurricane Ike throughout last week, we were able to track the storm’s real-time movement from Life with PlayStation. (See the screenshots below)

We’re also really excited to share that this new lifestyle service is running in parallel with our Folding@home project. Essentially, this means that while you’re taking a stroll on Life with PlayStation, you’re automatically helping Stanford University to work towards curing diseases such as Alzheimer’s and various types of cancers. For those familiar with Folding@home, we’ve made some enhancements for more advanced simulations of protein folding and support for wider variety of simulations, in addition to adding a unique ranking system showcasing top contributors from around the world.

I’ve also put together a quick video demo to make sure you’re checking out all the new features here:

Life with PlayStation is now available for download by selecting the Folding@home icon under “Network” on the XMB. Give it a whirl, we look forward to reading your feedback.

Life with playstation is TRULLY badass! Always check it out every morning when I wake up..I LOVE IT!

im pretty sure you can put them all on the same ID, a few months ago the application DLed an update and started acting screwy, so i deleted it and re-DLed it, and when i input the name i forgot if i used an underscore or not, so i folded under a different name for a few days or a week or something, then when i realized the stats werent adding to my normal ID, i figured it out and switched back, i still havent DLed the folding app on my PC, it runs horribly slow as it is, i dont want to make it any worse while running the folding app, and im pretty sure my PC at work is off limits for this kind of thing, id probably get in trouble for doing it with company resources

downloaded it this week, it doesnt eat bandwidth at work only borrows your CPU, i can honestly say i have a semi-shitty computer at work and folding does not hinder what im doing at all, so i wouldnt worry about affecting performance, HOWEVER, if your company is picky about what you have installed on your pc then yes, folding at home clearly is not a certified program by your systems admin and you would probably get reprimanded

if i remember to do it this weekend, im going to DL the folding client on my PC and see how it runs

can someone link me to the DL page? i didnt see it on the OP or anything, just to make it easier to find, because using google might be too difficult for me

Never - just load up the mac client and let her rip, some macs are putting out 40-50k PPD.

BTW just in case anyone is wondering why my PPD is way down, i was away from the house for 24 hours and when i came back the folding rig wouldn't start -took it apart and it looks like our lodgers knocked something into it whilst i was away as there is a bent ram socket and brown liquid drops everywhere. At the moment i cant afford a replacement M/B so its just whatever i can get my main machine to contribute.
