hmmmm duh blu-ray rules ! I can always drive the car later!

I'll have to start this client on my PS3 tonight for the Blu-Ray team.

I have been at 26 all month. I don't know if I am making any headway at all, but I hope to get into the top 25 at least.
Still, it is cool that we already made it to the top 200 teams
With more people buying Blu, more people will be buying PS3, and more people will be joining us!

I just joined the team. I already had 71 work units done, and I honestly haven't done this in a long time. So it will be good to get my PS3 working for some good again. I just need to get rid of that damned add on fan system. Its loud and the laptop port fan I had before did just as good and was quiet.

I just got a 40 GB PS3 and it runs almost silently and where my 60 GB would be almost hot to the touch (on the right side, where the fan exhaust is), this one is barely even warm. Wow!

The SMP client folds a different set of protiens from the regular PC client, so the crunch time per protien will vary depending on how many cores the SMP client has available to use (usually in the area of about 20-30 hours with moderate PC usage on a 2 core system). On average, the regular client will take roughly 12-18 hours to fold a protien (with moderate use of the PC usage) [Time estimates based on 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo/AMD 64 X2].

How the helldo points work? Doesn't look like it has much to do with work units. Anyone?

I think it has to do with the type of work unit. I've noticed my PC gets more points than my PS3 for each unit.

Even though the PS3 units are maxed at 8 hours, some have taken only 5-6 for me... so I think the size of the unit gets more points, exponentially so. I could be wrong though, so don't take my word for it!

195!

Sorbert something like that happened to me. I had 95% done on a work unit, but then I was trying to plug something into the power strip and went to pull out a cord I thought went to the tv. Lets just say WHOOPS. I got back onto Folding@Home and the entire work unit was lost, no points either. Had to start from scratch again on a new strand. But I like the views they show you of the strand. I am taking Biology now and we are going over a bunch of this stuff. I just realized when I looked at it the other day I actually understand the pictures now. Well I am learning about it in Chemistry too. Its pretty neat.
